Such is the case for Harvey Weinstein, one of the richest men in Hollywood who, although he was found guilty of rape in the 3rd degree and criminal sexual assault in the 1st degree, has yet to arrive at prison on Rikers Island where he was ordered by a judge, instead taking a respite at Bellevue Hospital.
Weinstein was apparently admitted to Bellevue because of high blood pressure, which is funny because that’s what writing this story about Weinstein has given me. However, unlike Weinstein, I am not trying to evade prison and as such do not need to spend time in a hospital.
Video footage obtained by PIX 11 shows that Weinstein has really been struggling in Bellevue, first sitting in a comfy leather armchair watching TV, and then walking around the facility unencumbered, not cuffed as he was when he was escorted out of the courtroom following his sentencing.
According to a source that talked to PIX11, he’s been walking around with the aid of a wheelchair in place of the iconic probably-prop walker he used throughout his trial and then left behind when he was found guilty. The source also said he’s receiving 24/7 protection from the Department of Correction Emergency Service Unit, even though he is the convicted criminal in this situation. Under any other circumstances, you might think it would make sense for the ESU to be protecting the other patients in the hospital, but given that Weinstein is a rich man, he’s the one that gets the protection, okay!
If you were to assume that this was all an elaborate hoax in order to further stave off his impending time in prison, you’d probably be right.

If you know nothing about Weinstein or his case, you would have made an excellent juror. Its over for now, so why not do a little reading or research about it to inform yourself.

Nah, from what I heard, I’d say the guy’s a total sleazebag but making hanky-panky in exchange for career advancement isn’t criminal. Well, technically, it’s prostitution but I don’t think the “working ladies” can claim to be guilt free in that crime.
He might skate a bit in the short term but he’s screwed long term. Mark my words. This man’s life is FINISHED.
Would a street bum be treated the same? Hospitalized instead of imprisoned until a medical condition was corrected? Is there no prison infirmary? If so, no foul. If not, miscarriage of justice.
But unless there are enough complaints nothing will be done about it.

Maybe he's agreed to testify in other cases, so they want to be sure he stays alive.

On one hand yes, there were most likely women who literally handed themselves over for ‘personal usage,’ in exchange for movie roles. Sigh. More to their foolishness.
There were, however, women who did file reports only to be told they were ‘he said/she said’ cases. This I believe even a young women who got him on tape apologizing for grabbing her and telling her he was just “used to being able to do it.” At that time the case was *still* being bandied about by the police in limbo because of his position and wealth.
So did he rape? I’m sure he did, as he was just so used to having his way and who his political backers were at the time.
I think it’s a severe case of Karma-being-a-bitch.
I think in a case where he went grabass on a woman, it might helped her complaint - in my thinking - if she would have at least slapped his face right then and there. A good hard b-slappin’.

So agree. I would have been sure to scratch with all my strength to make sure the marks stayed apparent for days, if not weeks. Scarring in that type of incident would be even better.

Everytime I see a coed/twentysomethings that is attractive, all I have to do is talk to her for three minutes to remind me why I didn’t like college girls even when I was in college!
Yeah, he gets a grab, he gets a good smack across the face next. Makes more sense to me than waiting years later to decide to complain.
