I think in a case where he went grabass on a woman, it might helped her complaint - in my thinking - if she would have at least slapped his face right then and there. A good hard b-slappin’.

So agree. I would have been sure to scratch with all my strength to make sure the marks stayed apparent for days, if not weeks. Scarring in that type of incident would be even better.
