I was in SF a few months ago for the first time in about 15 years. From 1984 to 1999, I went every year to a conference and loved the city. My return was such a disappointment. Human feces on the sidewalks, needles in the gutters, drunks sleeping in their own vomit in doorways. I'll never go back.

My wife and I visited two years ago and walked a lot. We didn’t see poop, but we did go into an underground rain terminal that had elevators that reeked of pee and poop and had a sign saying they were out of commission.

There were definitely bums there, too.

All this within 2-3 blocks of the Intercontinental hotel.

People all over the state from north to south have been disenfranchised, can’t afford it, as they watch their taxes, regulations, utilities, fees, fines and everything else going up and up...Very sad to think that was once a great state to live in and raise a family.
