Nearly 3 in 4 residents think the quality of life in the Bay Area has gotten worse in the last five years... I was in SF a few months ago for the first time in about 15 years. From 1984 to 1999, I went every year to a conference and loved the city. My return was such a disappointment. Human feces on the sidewalks, needles in the gutters, drunks sleeping in their own vomit in doorways. I'll never go back.

My wife and I visited two years ago and walked a lot. We didnt see poop, but we did go into an underground rain terminal that had elevators that reeked of pee and poop and had a sign saying they were out of commission.
There were definitely bums there, too.
All this within 2-3 blocks of the Intercontinental hotel.

My mother in law was born in San Francisco. She loved her city. The Golden Gate Bridge was "her" bridge because they started building it the day she turned ten and she watched it go up.
We scattered her ashes from a boat in the bay because those were her wishes.
I am glad she never saw what San Fransisco became. It would have broken her heart.
