A forever thread is getting long. Perhaps a weekly thread?
Let’s not forget Puerto Rican pols hiding FEMA supplies in warehouses and saying they never showed up, just to make Trump look bad. 90% of fedgov and pols in every major city have the same, twisted mentality. In an election year, they would definitely not let this crisis go to waste.
Americans want things yesterday. We don’t understand needs vs wants. Yes, even in good times, they’ll rush out to buy a tv and ignore the real bills. A repairman was here once who opened up about his wife spending his very good income on fancy lotions and frivolous stuff so he couldn’t pay the bills so much so they were behind on rent and about to lose the car. Mind boggling.
Repairmen may be some of the first hit if we had widespread illness as people wouldn’t want someone who may be sick in their homes.
How many people suffered and possibly died in Puerto Rico because they wanted Trump to get the blame?
Think other govt organizations aren’t infested with the same mindset?
For some the ends justifies the means. And thats exactly what it feels like. I dont buy (yet) that the intentionally released or brought here, but it does feel, like you said, someone in charge is not letting a crisis go to waste. I know there are good people in the CDC, they need to step up NOW.
Plan to bring coronavirus evacuees to Alabama cancelled by Trump, lawmakers say
Glad he did. I know there are facilities much nearer the west coast that can handle those who have tested positive.
You just know there’s thousands of people who bounce back and forth between Cali and China. Ships coming from China to ports in Cali and back. That’s slowed but since when? Days?

The passenger in question was travelling from Iran to Vancouver with a layover in Montreal.
Air Canada advised staff who were on the flight about the passenger and staff was asked to report any symptoms to a healthcare professional.
Affecting Iranians in a really bad way too. Perhaps it was designed for them. They have had issues with Muslims lately.

Italy - 3rd death was an Oncologist
Coronavirus, direct - Third victim in Crema, was in oncology. There are 152 infections, positive doctor of the Polyclinic of Milan. Lombardy: entertainment venues closed from 6 pm. No school or university in Northern Italy
Comment: an epidemiologist there believes is has been circulating in Italy since late January.
H1N1 had a very low mortality. It spread to a billion people because it wasn’t taken seriously enough. Had it been even close to as dangerous as COVIS-19, it would have been a disaster.
So hard to find ME news.
Ut oh.....when will flights from Italy be suspended, across the globe?
Right, all the more reason to test/triage. My family laid low for a few months during H1N1 as we had a child with serious medical issues at the time. My friends acted like I was crazy. But then we lost a child in our community and one friend suffered Guillain Barre syndrome after getting it.
Until they run out of food on the shelves and get evicted from the basement. The power and water gets shut off for non-payment of the bills and the dwelling is marked uninhabitable.
About a week too late.
They suspended travel from china, IIRC, sometime in early February. About 7-10 days too late.
It’s a thing that time period. Simulations and past events point out that governments do the right thing about 7-10 days too late.
The ME news stories are hard to decipher even with a translator.
