Maybe or Maybe not. Could have been working on a vaccine. It’s not ideal as a bio weapon—not deadly enough.
However, the release is interesting-it did take care of those protestors. And China had been slaughtering hogs and chickens due to disease-so starvation/lack of food could have been a big problem looming—so two birds with one virus so to speak.
Trouble is, China’s economy is now set to implode—it was already shakey. Best silver lining to me—people might be incentivized to set up alternate supply chains and quit depending on China for important stuff.
I'm ready to quit my job, cash out my 401K and set up manufacturing to fill the hole. What should I make?

I agree on this silver lining. We shouldn’t be reliant on another country for the majority of medicines etc. Bring it home.
Its just about perfect as a bioweapon unless you are looking to depopulate a continent. In wars killing the enemy isnt always optimum, if a casualty weighs down infrastructure by eating a hospital bed and 2 or 3 caregivers for a month thats far more impact than a dead guy getting chunked in a hole as soon as the smoke clears.
