Coronavirus test kits.

Start with face masks. My brother works in health industry. Hospitals are stock piling the masks as they tend to do with any health scare...but the masks are made in China. Probably easier to get up and running than the drug end of things.
Plumbing and electrical supplies. The ones from China are pure junk.

I dunno. Right now—anti viral drugs and N95 masks and protective gear are needed, but can you keep that market once China undercuts your price to the point that you don’t even recover the cost of goods sold?
Their 5g phones are crappy so maybe there’s something there. Or some sort of food—I really don’t want to eat anything from China ever and I’ll pay extra for good food.

Bloody Mary mix. EVERYONE needs it.

As dangerous as getting all our medicine from China, is
getting all of our Integrated Circuit Chips from China.
Also, there is a never ending need to custom integrate
circuits into ever more complex and advanced chips.
Unfortunately the barriers to entry are formidable, but
there are many ways to participate. Design is one. Coding
systems that aid design is another.
There are also opportunities in the design and manufacture
of the hardware and technology that go into chip making;
clean rooms, automation hardware, input materials
refinement, rare earths processing, nano materials
processing, electronics and industrial chemical recycling,
testing and analysis equipment and services, design
services and more.
We’ve got our steel foundries coming back online, now we
need to do the same for some US based chip and other
electronics component foundries.
Piezoelectricity-Induced Room Temperature Superconductors
Want me to start with just small engines?
Foam air cleaners
Oil caps
Dipsticks
Plug wires
Shear keys
Throttle linkages
Pull starters and ropes
Bushings
Replacement heads
Gaskets
Rod bolt retaining clips
Branding decals
Carburetor jets
Fuel filters
Spark arrestors
Mufflers
Bolts
Etc...
Theres a LOT of stuff over there they may have anywhere from a garage shop to a modern factory making them, but there are a myriad of items that they seized upon to get a toehold. You can grind out shear keys by the bucketloads with a roof covering a pack of 8 year olds sitting on foot powered grinding wheels with a pile of scrap steel. They may not have sold a whole lot of those here, but schwang jung slave labor collective #3 probably got their factory capital doing that and selling/exchanging them regionally.
Probably the bitterest of ironies in that is that most everybody should be able to fabricate simple stuff like that, its a crime that there isnt at least 1 or 2 semesters of some level of school that teaches stuff like making hinges, cutting a gasket, making a simple stove, maintaining an engine etc...
