“I’m ready to quit my job, cash out my 401K and set up
manufacturing to fill the hole. What should I make?”

As dangerous as getting all our medicine from China, is
getting all of our Integrated Circuit Chips from China.

Also, there is a never ending need to custom integrate
circuits into ever more complex and advanced chips.
Unfortunately the barriers to entry are formidable, but
there are many ways to participate. Design is one. Coding
systems that aid design is another.

There are also opportunities in the design and manufacture
of the hardware and technology that go into chip making;
clean rooms, automation hardware, input materials
refinement, rare earths processing, nano materials
processing, electronics and industrial chemical recycling,
testing and analysis equipment and services, design
services and more.

We’ve got our steel foundries coming back online, now we
need to do the same for some US based chip and other
electronics component foundries.

Noice! Thank you. I know I’m not the only one thinking like this. There are probably a lot of folks with the capital to back it up pondering the manufacturing holes.
