I can see that.
I’ve only sunburned once in my life. I do try to get 30m of rays when the season is appropriate for D3 synthesis.
930,000 hospital beds.
The guy in Washington state was put in a positive air isolation unit. The hospital had one unit, two beds. I’m guessing many hospitals in the state of Washington have similar - but probably a total that are in the hundreds.
That’s great if the cases remain isolated. When five people show up at time - not so good.
If you’re freaking out, then that’s your problem.
I might. But not forever in any event.
“Thats right, folks! This crap could kill off nearly 40 percent of Americans who get it.”
OH PLEASE - It will only kill about 20 percent of Americans - why spread fear? If you have 5 people in your household, you’ll have 4 people a year from now. Not 3, dingbat.
Feel better? I don’t.
(thanks for the ping, Tol, by the way)
I’m merely going by the 2.3x multiplier and the phony Chinese death percentage. But if we keep it mostly caged up, we might not be as dead. Maybe not even 20.
Bro you got so many fears and insecurities that it glares like the sun :)
Have a nice weekend :)

I hear you - hang tough, we’re in for quite a ride!
I'm here for the SPAM grilling ideas. The kids want a little more variety. Plus they're getting bored filling mags.
you might try cutting the SPAM Julienne cut. LOL
makes for interesting fajitas especially with hash browns. LOL
LOL!
You project much clown.
Take your meds..
Bump
64,457 total cases worldwide (63,863 in China)
1,384 total fatalities (1,381 in China)
And yet for some reason this seems to never spark any curiosity seeing that the people outside of China are not dying anywhere near the same rate?
On another thread from yesterday, someone posted a theory that goes something like this: Perhaps some truly bad bio-weapon was accidentally released from the weapons lab near Wuhan and another much weaker virus was released that is now in a number of countries...That milder virus being released as a cover so China doesn’t have to come clean on the more dangerous bio-weapon...
I found the theory interesting because it might help explain the seemingly higher death rate in Wuhan and the surrounding region...
and the quarantine facilitates this as well as the fact that WHO docs have not been allowed into Wuhan—at least that was the case a few days ago....
Eh maybe I need some tin foil to add to my prepper shopping list...but I did find the theory interesting.
It looks like people are going to starve to death in China... is that the plan to kill the virus?
I've kept a four-day supply of food and water for emergencies, ie my hurricane stash, since I moved into my own apartment. I have a two month supply now, and am ordering freeze-dry food for another two weeks. If the basic reproduction rate of Covid 2019 ends up being below 2 and its mortality rate is under 1%, I just have cheap food.
One-hundred-fifty degree treatment should deactivate a virus. Microwaves stir water molecules to generate heat-no water content would mean no heating. A sauna would work.
If it begins in the cities, strict quarantine?
I agree, the numbers in China are probably far worse than we know but I’m not ready to run around with my hair on fire-even if I do ponder the possibilities.
I don’t believe we should ignore the possible threat either.
I’m not as afraid of the virus itself as I am the chaos that could gradually bubble up from a slow disruption of the global supply/manufacturing flow. There could be shortages of everything soon and almost everything is made in... China these days.
I am hoping and praying it will fizzle out as the weather warms up and before the JIT system is completely fubared.
In the meantime I am laying in supplies as I am able. Not buying MOPP suits and cartons of masks, just trying to have enough of what we already use on hand to hunker down for several months. If we need it for hunkering down, fine. If we don’t have to do that then great!I don’t have to go to the store for a while. :)
I do believe here it may not hit as hard. I have been reading about it off and on for weeks now. I have read that the east Asians are more genetically susceptible to this thing. Add nationwide pollution, malnutrition, weird food, archaic hygiene and superstitions in outlying areas and scattered, overtaxed and scarce healthcare to that. It is a combination that would definitely make sickness of any sort spread like wildfire.
In the end, whatever will be will be. God’s will-He’s in charge.
I’m worried about the swarms of locusts in Africa as well.
Also the sheer numbers of people crammed together in the big city apartment buildings or on cruise ships which are a petri dish on a good day....
That doesn’t help either!
This is a good approach. Steps in moderation to be prepared. “Worry a little.”
