Snopes, that progressive bastion of deliberate falsity, claims that Nancy had every right to destroy her “personal” copy of the State of the Union Speech” because if was not an official document of the House, as she was not an official of the United States and thus President Trump had not delivered an official document to any Official of the United States under the applicable section of the Law. However, the Constitution creates the Office of the Speaker of the House. . .

The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.—Article 1, Section 2

And delivering any official document to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, is an official act, performed at her official position, at her Official desk, during an Official Duly Constituted meeting of that body, is delivering that document to that body. Ergo, Snopes and its cited legal authorities, making those who claim that the Speaker of the House is not an Official, partisanly and, ahem, officially and Constitutionally DEAD WRONG.
