Bigfoot Sighting? WSDOT cameras capture Sasquatch-like creature on Sherman, Snoqualmie Passes

The Legend of Bigfoot has resurfaced in the news this week after the Washington State Department of Transportation posted two apparent sightings on social media.

WSDOT East tweeted about a possible Sasquatch Sherman Pass sighting Wednesday afternoon.

"Have you noticed something strange on our Sherman Pass/SR 20 webcam before?" WSDOT said. "If you look closely by the tree on the left there looks to be something... might be Sasquatch... We will leave that up to you!"

The photos gained viral attention, with thousands retweeting, sharing and chiming in on what they thought it might be -- or just having plain fun with it.

Then Snoqualmie Pass reported its own encounter Thursday, on the heels of the Sherman sighting.

"I think Bigfoot is making the rounds across our mountain passes," WSDOT's Snoqualmie Pass account posted. "WSDOT East showed him on Sherman Pass the other day and now he is on the wildlife crossing on I-90 just east of Snoqualmie Pass."

Sasquatch had last been in the news around the Inland Northwest a little less than a year ago when a viewer spotted giant biped tracks near Medical Lake.

"Never stop believing," Steve Meacham said after discovering the tracks back in March. "I mean you always got to have something to look forward to. If you can't believe in something that you can't reach there's no sense in going forward."

No went to the backside of a mountain in WVA on the KY border. The best roads were the coal mining roads that had big trucks every few minutes passing by. Because it was so remote from roads, it took over 2 hours on the bus to get to school, but the school was in KY.

Dare if the second pic is not the VA Gov Blackface himself.

Mikie or whatever that thing goes by was previously labeled Wookie from what I understand. From what I understand even a Wookie needs a Gillette shave in the morning.

Left picture appears to be a man in a big coat - arms are too short to be a Sasquatch. The right looks like a Photoshop, as other photos from that camera show a vaguely man-shaped dark hole in the trees at that spot and somebody extended it here to look more like a humanoid shape.

The creatures don’t walk around in the open in the daylight in such a way that cameras like this could likely catch them.

ParaBreakdown on YouTube addresses both of these images recently. He is very good at demolishing fake Bigfoot photos and videos, which make up more than 95% of the total online. Many “Bigfoot researchers” detest him, because he pokes holes in popular images by doing the very basic photo analysis they didn’t bother to do. He doesn’t discount the existence of Sasquatch, and gives respectful treatment to those images and videos he thinks could be authentic - it’s just that he has more fun skewering the legions of fakers. :)

It’s probably some old hippy left over from the 1960’s living in the woods to commune with nature.....................

You are not the only one who has put forth that theory-there was a program on the Bigfoot phenomenon on NatG a few months ago-with various anthropologists, zoologists, etc offering their pet theories-one anthropologists believes most of the Bigfoot sightings are of people who are into living in solitude in the forests and don’t want to be found or bothered-it isn’t any secret that there are people like that out there-even have been a couple reality shows where a couple of those guys joked about scaring hikers, etc away from their part of the woods by pretending to be Bigfoot-it seems logical that they would do that if they want to be left alone...

There are people out here where I live who are extreme naturalists compared to the rest of us-they live in the woods on their properties in primitive shelters like wikiups, treehouses, etc and only drive their truck to the local grocery and ranch stores for supplies and food they can’t grow/raise/forage. We call them “mountain men”-they don’t want to talk to you unless they say hello first-and that is fine-they aren’t Bigfoot-but they are just as antisocial for the most part...

I would guess that if the mountain men in the Pacific Northwest forests are really pretending to be Bigfoot, they would likely stink, too-at least to keep it real and authentic when they are out scaring hikers...

The mountain men around here aren’t smelly or dirty-they buy bath soap/body wash, shampoo, etc-and most of them have adequate rain capture systems to supply a bush-style shower with a black plastic barrel for passive solar water heating-their clothes are clean, too, but old, faded-there are plenty of creeks and a river here to bathe in if you don’t mind really cold water...

Yea, they could have fun dressing up as deer too during hunting season. That would scare the hikers.

Nope-but it is a good way to get killed-hunters aren’t hikers out to commune with nature-we are there to fill the freezer with delicious venison...

Some hikers carry, and if Big foot jumped out at me I might be tempted to protect myself.

I’d guess that most of the hikers/runners in Washington and Oregon are the unarmed variety-they probably don’t even carry bear spray-otherwise, they wouldn’t get mauled by bears and mountain lions on the trails at about 3x the rate of hikers in other states-other than Cali...
