They are going to vote on Friday night ... all of the waffling is in the direction of no witnesses. I’m still mixed on whether to have witnesses and what’s in the plan though I think either way works.

I’m most swayed:

1) The impeachment trial provides a stage + opportunity to introduce the truth.

2) the impeachment trial is an absurdity and provides a stage and opportunity for the ds to repeat their absurdities.

I think there is most to be said for dismissing and acquitting asap for the institution of the presidency and our constitution and the separation of powers - something that has been well argued by POTUS legal team. I think that’s the overriding objective.

It doesn’t matter whether there are witnesses or not, the DEMs and media will lie - so the stage is a relative thing. The STORM as anticipated on these threads is something the media will not be able to ignore and ready to be eagerly consumed by the masses. In that light it makes the most sense to kill impeachment and any jeopardy or opportunity for further hijinx.

My further consideration - and I don’t know these answers - is how timeliness impacts things legally ... and my consideration is that things are cleanest if/when the impeachment is dismissed and then the ball can begin rolling.

TBD + WWG1WGA :)

Wrap up the impeachment over based on what they received.

If they really want to talk to witnesses they can have them, just not as part of the impeachment hearing. If they change their mind Barr and Durham are still out there.

The Dims know what’s coming. It’ll end this week is my call. But as I’ve said many times, my wife tells me I’m wrong a lot.

Agreed, but it’s not good to allow a flawed impeachment to continue by calling witnesses. The House did an end run around the justice system to try and snooker Senate into calling the witnesses for them. Better not to set a precedent. Tell the House to do it right the next time.

All the crooks etc. need to be prosecuted through the judicial system/tribunals. Exposure in Congress-just yields political results — Congress can’t try and convict the corruptocRATS. Just my 2 cents. We’ll see what the Maestro and his team do.

***My further consideration...***

Your thoughts are well reasoned and make sense. I just see one problem: the Democrats. They are acting a way out of line these past few months: Pelosi talking about attacking the DoJ with armed troops, Schiff holding Star Chamber hearings and withholding exculpatory evidence as secret, Bernie Sanders staffer saying gulags weren't so bad --- and Chuck Schumer hogging every TV camera frame on Capitol Hill.

I predicted a few weeks ago that the Dems would agitate things - with the help of their awful media hacks - in order to set up another Kavanaugh circus, and the well timed NYT Bolton bombshell seems all too familiar in that regard... and the Dems were all too ready to ride that horse despite the fact that it really didn't change anything legally: we don't prosecute people for what they might think or have said; we prosecute people for what they do -- and DJT did not require a quid pro quo nor hold up aid to Ukraine.

The Democrat Party has morphed into those locusts in the Book of Revelation plundering everything in their way and stinging those they encounter with misery.

This is why Donald Trump isn't enough, even after a 2nd term:
