Autopsy reveals cause of death for TobyMac's son (OD Fentanyl & Amphetamines)

NASHVILLE (BP) -- The death of Truett Foster McKeehan, 21, son of Christian rapper TobyMac, was caused by an accidental overdose of fentanyl and amphetamines. The cause was listed on a report from the Davidson County (Tenn.) medical examiner, according to the Tennessean newspaper.

McKeehan's death was sudden. Emergency crews found him dead on arrival to his home after a call was made regarding a person in cardiac arrest.

The report showed potential nitrous oxide use, known also a laughing gas, as well as Adderall and marijuana.

Metro Public Health Department records for Davidson County show that deaths as a result of fentanyl overdose have increased since 2016.

The report state that unbeknownst to the user, heroin, cocaine and other drugs are often laced with fentanyl, which, according to the CDC, is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.

Davidson County Medical Examiner Feng Li, in the written report, said that McKeehan had previously abused drugs and alcohol, but that is not yet known where the drugs came from that caused his overdose.

McKeehan released music and video projects, along with being featured on some of his father's tracks and albums.

TobyMac released a tribute song for his son Jan. 10 titled "21 Years."

The song, exploring McKeehan's passing at 21 years of age, features a raw outpouring of the heart as the rapper describes his journey of grief.

In an Instagram post regarding the release, TobyMac stated that "writing this song felt like an honest confession of the questions, pain, anger, doubt, mercy and promise that describes the journey I'm probably only beginning."

The rapper continued by pointing to the hope he finds in God.

"One thing I know is that I am not alone," TobyMac said. "God didn't promise us a life of no pain or even tragic death, but He did promise He would never leave us or forsake us. And I'm holding dearly to that promise for my son as well as myself."

Following the tragedy, the rapper's family started the Truett Foster Foundation -- a donation-based scholarship fund that gives children the financial ability to pursue their dreams.

"We want to use this fund to help kids to do just that: to get an education -- to pursue music -- to get the chance to chase their dreams. Truett would love that," reads a statement on the organization's website.

Southern Baptists have affirmed their intention to increase awareness of the dangers of opioids, to advocate for solutions and to serve those affected by addiction in a resolution passed at the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Dallas in 2018.

"Resolved, that we demonstrate grace toward the addict and hope for recovering that individuals might prosper and flourish," the resolutions reads, that we encourage churches to live out the biblical mandate to care for the fatherless by supporting families and organizations that advocate and care for children whose homes have been impacted by opioid abuse."

My post #20 expresses what your great memes do, Grampa, and what your post notices of the death notice.

More cleaning of the gene pool, self inflicted. The utter wimping attitude of “embracing” “grace toward the addict” - is a statement of complete delusional virtue signalling of the Baptist Church. Like this is going to do anything to stop an addict from offing themselves.

Jesus is Lord, yes, and Jesus and God gave us FREE WILL to say— “Nothing is going to have Power over Me” except the Lord.

Their “religion” wusses out on what is needed— major kicks in the a@@ not “everybody hug the junkie”. Take a look at Rev. Wright and obamaumao’s joke of a “church”— greasy lying and yes, drug dealing and using ministers (like ole jim jones the amphetamine freak), and their greed, are a major part of the problem— and never addressed. The “Osteens” of this world are ALL about the bucks and especially the subservience of their fleeced flocks.

What is disappointing is that the Christian church, and many Christians, look more and more like the world.

There are no guarantees of course, regardless of what we do as parents.

All we can do is follow Proverbs 22:6..

The life of a rock star or movie star is not a good environment for raising children, regardless if it is Christian.

Yes, it’s a thing, and he has a huge following.

I go to a lot of the Fox summer concerts, for the free show and sometimes the food. His was the only one I couldn’t get into because it was overcrowded. People told me they’d driven 12 hours or more to see a one hour show because they don’t get many opportunities.

I didn’t stay. The songs didn’t do anything for me.

“Or was it smoke marijuana and drink Doctor Pepper.”

Or just all pile in the car, whoever had one for the night, and drink some Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill and do a little skinny dippin’!

I really feel sad for the youth of today. No Dad’s at home to kick your sorry @ss when needed, or dealing with Two Mommies who will indulge you until the cows come home, and then all of the friggin’ DRUGS available to you 24/7 no matter WHERE you live...

As always, Thank A Democrat! *SPIT*

...was caused by an accidental overdose of fentanyl and amphetamines.

Pretty sure it wasn't accidental. Unless someone slipped it into his drink or something, he took it intentionally.

This just in: Youth lack the wisdom of experience. Also: Partying too hard kills. In today's FYI segment: Choosing the proper belt for the woodshed prevents future tragedies.

Rap guy using son's death for profit? Tonight on the Grammy Show I saw Ellen Future Prince In Hell brought out just to say how wonderful one musician was coming out as gay then grinning evilly upon the celebrity audience. She knows what she's about. Bit later some rap gospel (gospel rap?) was performed between teenage girls singing formulaic tunes while doing what looked like soft-porn skits. End times.

>>> Here's a story about a man that lost 4 daughters when the ship carrying them and his wife sank. He turned to music to console himself. <<< [ sick ]

It Is Well With My Soul.

This hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford's life.

The first two were the death of his two-year-old son and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago that was extensively damaged by the great fire).

His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873, at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre.

In a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire.

While crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sea vessel, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford's daughters died.

His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone …".

Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.[2]

Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel.[3]

* The band (DC Talk) of the decedent's father...

Formation[edit]

While attending Liberty University, Toby McKeehan met Michael Tait, and the two began to perform together. Tait had previously been featured on Jerry Falwell’s The Old Time Gospel Hour and with the Falwell Singers.[3] He also performed solo, what TobyMac later described as a "kind of an R&B / church-oriented music".[4]

The two joined forces to record a song that McKeehan had written, "Heavenbound".[3] They performed the song before an audience of 8,000 Liberty students with McKeehan rapping and Tait singing the chorus.[3] The song was well received, selling out the approximately 3,000 copies[3] of their demo tape, Christian Rhymes to a Rhythm. The tape included "Heavenbound" and was distributed by the group in the Washington D.C. area.[5] The group's demo tape eventually led to a recording contract with Forefront Records in 1988.[3] Kevin Max Smith came from a campus rock band to join the group,[4] and the trio called themselves "DC Talk and the One Way Crew".[5] The name was later simplified to "DC Talk", which came to stand for "decent Christian talk", though originally "DC" was from Washington, D.C., where Toby McKeehan was rapping.[5]

...”Drugs just don’t care who you are”....

It would appear also that people taking them don’t care what’s in them either. It’s well known pushers use fntanyl laced drugs because there’s more money if they can get folks on that, easier to ship, and less chance of getting caught.

Anybody taking drugs who thinks their dealer is an honest broker fails to understand they have no interest in your welfare whatsoever.....except you continue to use.

The autopsy and toxicology are done

But not released

21 year olds do not have arteriosclerosis of much significance

He may have had V Tach or Fibrillation suddenly for God knows why or congenital myopathy but he woulda been symptomatic with that

Or something in the toxicology but he sure didn’t give off that vibe and neither does his family

My wife knows them in passing and I drive past their lovely home on Franklin road almost daily

I cannot imagine ...the father and son were close I’m told

So sad.
