Wait-so Dad’s making money off his son’s death.Sick.

TobyMac released a tribute song for his son Jan. 10 titled “21 Years.”

The song, exploring McKeehan’s passing at 21 years of age, features a raw outpouring of the heart as the rapper describes his journey of grief.

In an Instagram post regarding the release, TobyMac stated that “writing this song felt like an honest confession of the questions, pain, anger, doubt, mercy and promise that describes the journey I’m probably only beginning.”

This just in: Youth lack the wisdom of experience. Also: Partying too hard kills. In today's FYI segment: Choosing the proper belt for the woodshed prevents future tragedies.

Rap guy using son's death for profit? Tonight on the Grammy Show I saw Ellen Future Prince In Hell brought out just to say how wonderful one musician was coming out as gay then grinning evilly upon the celebrity audience. She knows what she's about. Bit later some rap gospel (gospel rap?) was performed between teenage girls singing formulaic tunes while doing what looked like soft-porn skits. End times.

>>> Here's a story about a man that lost 4 daughters when the ship carrying them and his wife sank. He turned to music to console himself. <<< [ sick ]

It Is Well With My Soul.

This hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford's life.

The first two were the death of his two-year-old son and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago that was extensively damaged by the great fire).

His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873, at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre.

In a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire.

While crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sea vessel, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford's daughters died.

His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone …".

Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.[2]

Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel.[3]

Formation[edit]

While attending Liberty University, Toby McKeehan met Michael Tait, and the two began to perform together. Tait had previously been featured on Jerry Falwell’s The Old Time Gospel Hour and with the Falwell Singers.[3] He also performed solo, what TobyMac later described as a "kind of an R&B / church-oriented music".[4]

The two joined forces to record a song that McKeehan had written, "Heavenbound".[3] They performed the song before an audience of 8,000 Liberty students with McKeehan rapping and Tait singing the chorus.[3] The song was well received, selling out the approximately 3,000 copies[3] of their demo tape, Christian Rhymes to a Rhythm. The tape included "Heavenbound" and was distributed by the group in the Washington D.C. area.[5] The group's demo tape eventually led to a recording contract with Forefront Records in 1988.[3] Kevin Max Smith came from a campus rock band to join the group,[4] and the trio called themselves "DC Talk and the One Way Crew".[5] The name was later simplified to "DC Talk", which came to stand for "decent Christian talk", though originally "DC" was from Washington, D.C., where Toby McKeehan was rapping.[5]

22% of the US population attends church. Of those, how many are heretic churches?

I'm a 62 year old male (past single parent for 14 years) and an ardent fan of DC Talk, and an attendant of Cornerstone Christian Music Festival (JPUSA) for 7 years, and a volunteer driver of artists to and from the festival.

Dozens of Christian music festivals (unrelated to JPUSA) occur across the United States every year, ministering to the lost and forgotten youth of America.

Yeah Toby, the only journey you're "beginning" at 55 is the nightly 3am shuffle to the bathroom ... take better care of the rest of your kids, douchelord.
