According to the following site posted by Homer_J_Simpson, there are 1438 confirmed infections, 42 have died, and 39 have recovered. So deaths are higher than recoveries.
These numbers are lower than other reports, so this site might have a delay.

As far as I can tell flights from Beijing, Shanghai, and other Chinese flights to US via various airlines are flying here same as ever.

Some things to keep in mind is how will China keep all these cities, etc,. stocked with food and water?
I think a great number of deaths may end up being from lack of food, water, medical supplies, and the secondary diseases that will turn up like typhus and such.
I have a feeling that somehow Christians who postpone vaccinations on their babies will get blamed for this pandemic...like always.
As I wrote elsewhere, China's 4Q2019 GDP growth rate was the lowest in 29 years. If ChIna Inc. doesn't look like a good place, then foreign direct investment etc. will be curtailed and then the capital outflows will be YUGE. THAT is a bigger threat to China than the common cold.
Now, maybe there IS something going on, a strong strain of influenza perhaps. So, taking their cue from the Obama Admin to not let a good crisis go through waste, the govt cranks up their dictatorial powers and executes quarantine etc on a level that they KNOW will freak out the world.
The World, which tends to be gullible and seems to prefer China to Russia (they are both detestable regimes), eats up the pandemic story,. And why not - we did with Ebola where about 1700 people died in the end...not the seventeen zillion everyone selling freeze-fried food wanted you to believe would die.
So, call me skeptical. And sure, I'm open to the Potential that there IS something bad in China...but I like things like evidence from, say, the Red Cross or some entity that didn't gun down their citizens in Tiananmen Square.

Friend I visited today had purchased, and was mailing masks to family in China. No masks locally or online in China.
She described family there as industrious, strong willed, and stoic, so if they are nervous, it is scary bad.

I think I counted ten to SFO, and 5 or 6 to sea-tac. Still more flights coming in later this evening. So, I expect we will see more cases here.
Banning flights from China doesn’t do any good unless most of the world agrees to do the same. Chinese people will fly to other countries & catch flights from there.
The ‘no fly’ has to come from China itself.
