And just to add to the despair, out hospitals are working on a just in time delivery service for most supplies. And I am not talking meds. Gloves, masks, linens, paper products, and cleaning supplies. Most hospitals have weeks worth of supplies.
Now add in that that meds, IV liquid, and other mixes almost disappeared when the hurricane hit PR. Most of the saline in the US comes from a few factories. There are almost no backlogs. All just in time.
This would overwhelm every medium sized city in the US in a week to ten days.

According to a source, large numbers of doctors and nurses have contracted #WuhanCoronovirus and doctors who remain at the frontline are experiencing nerves breakdown. They are also warned by authorities that if they leave their duties, their licenses will he suspended.

If 3 out of 100 people infected with ‘common cold’ died, we’ wouldn’t have 7B people on the planet.
Spanish Flu had about an 8-10% mortality IIRC.
But truthfully, we don’t have any idea what the mortality of this is. Are there hundreds of people who sniffle and snot for a day or two and then are fine and aren’t reported? Are the chicoms telling us the truth about any of this? Who knows...
I’m waiting to see what happens with the patients in Western countries.

That could indeed be fanfic. At this point the chicoms might be trying to take the emphasis off the biolab in wuhan and implicate someone else. Like Russia. Or the US.

The thing that worries me the most is the Chinese response to this. They could be being abundantly cautious, and after their lying and incompetence during the SARS outbreak of 2003 that makes sense, but these feels a little more than that. This feels like the CCP is much much more worried then the numbers that they have revealed support. Either they have little faith in the local provinces reporting (likely), and/or they know much much more than they are letting on. It’s just so hard to tell anything when all reporting from the ground has to be smuggled over illegal VPN’s and cut and pasted over Weibo.
My gut tells me they are scared, and I dont think the party is scared of much.
