Iowa caucuses turnout: Entrance poll shows dip in first-timers

Iowa’s presidential caucuses were expected to draw record turnout Monday, but early data from the NBC News entrance poll show a big dip in participants attending a Democratic caucus for the first time.

The entrance poll showed just about a third of voters — 35 percent — caucusing this year are first-timers, a lower level than in 2016, when first-timers made up 44 percent of the Hawkeye State’s Democratic caucusgoers

Hope you don’t have to go out, stay in safe and warm.

I slipped and slid all the way to the school this morning to find out there is a 2 hour delay.

We didn’t get much snow but it rained before and is so cold there is a sheet of ice under the snow.

When I got home, Checked my e-mail and I did get one from the teacher I work with telling me about the delay.

It didn’t look that bad, never dreamed school would be late.

Oh well, I was out so I rewarded myself with a YUGE Diet Coke from the mini-mart.

One of the news networks President Trump calls “fake news” is reportedly barred from the annual pre-State of the Union lunch.

Anchors from CNN will not be allowed into Tuesday’s event, sources told the network.

The off-the-record lunch allows anchors to gain access to the president’s state of mind hours before the televised address to the nation. This year’s State of the Union comes amid a Senate impeachment trial against Trump that has seen partisan division and resentment grow in both chambers of Congress.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer attended the lunch last year. Blitzer has appeared at every lunch for the last 20 years.
