He's the establishment candidate. It would be in our interest if he wins the nomination and takes his November loss 'like a man'. The left will really go crazy for accepting such a loss. So the result would be a far(ther) leftist in 2024 just like McGovern was in 72' That way they won't learn their lesson like they did when Clinton was nominated. They'll learn only if Bernie or Warren takes the party down in flames THIS year.
Assuming leftists can actually think
They didn’t learn after McGovern.
‘The left will really go crazy for accepting such a loss”/ The left went crazy a long time ago. Just more dangerous now.
2024 will see Chelsea Clinton and AOC running.
By that time, Slow Joe with have (hopefully) peacefully passed from this mortal coil.
When faced with this kind of scenario, it's in the best interest of the challenging party (the Democrats, in this case) to nominate a hapless loser who has been in Washington for 40+ years and never accomplished anything of any substance.
This allows a challenger with no future in Washington to get his ass kicked without jeopardizing the future presidential aspirations of other younger members of his own party.
They did. They nominated Carter who was supposedly more centrist.
Our nation would not survive with them leading it. We would be reduced to Cuba Status over night
“They didnt learn after McGovern.”
No. They took out Nixon.
And Hillary is every bit as radical as Bernie, if not more. Don’t forget that.
Good analogy. And Dole was actually 5 years younger in ‘96 than Biden is now.
Easiest to hardest beat:
1) Warren
2) Bernie
3) Buttigieg
4) Biden
File that post under: funny but true.
I honestly think BIDEN is the easiest to beat. He’s the only candidate who allows Trump to do something that should be impossible for an incumbent: run as a refreshing newcomer against a useless old misfit who has been a fixture in D.C. for decades.
I think they’ll go with either Quid-Pro-Joe/Hillary or Bernie/Hillary.
Two years and one day in, the ticket topper is removed, one way or another.
Hillary serves out the term, and under the 22 Amendment is still eligible for two FULL terms.
Anyone who thinks there is any way she could loose with the democrats controlling those elections simply hasn’t been paying attention...
Thanks DIRTYSECRET, Biden's age is an obvious factor, since if he wins, his reelection campaign would be conducted by Ouija board. Ever since "Hang Ten" Gabbard did that takedown on Kameltoe over Harris' agism and shaming of Joe Biden in a prior debate, no other rivals will dare to bring up his age in the campaign for 2020. But it is bound to be on everyone's minds.
Alberta is right. That’s why I think it’s best that Slo Joe takes it like a man. The Dole analogy was right on too. The first Bush was on the same track but BJ was the best ‘poilitician’ to come out of the 20th century. Throw in no new taxes and a slightly sluggish economy it becomes the perfect storm. Throw in a hand grenade like Perot. Nuff said.
I agree, but Biden doesn’t have the socialist label, can take away support in PA and the rust belt and has executive experience. The others have none.
Bernie The Red is a fraud and has also been around for decades pushing his scoialist BS. Just cue the video of Bernie in Russia on his honeymoon praising breadlines. Warren - Bernie light and will never be President so she should just drop out.
Overall, Trump can mop the floor with anyone of them. But against a socialist kook I think there is the bigger win.
And doles still hanging in there.
