Researchers from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism analyzed the death certificates of Americans ages 16 and up between 1999 and 2017. And while 35,914 deaths were alcohol-related in 1999, that number doubled to reach 72,558 in 2017. The death rate spiked 50.9% from 16.9 to 25.5 per 100,000.
In other words, alcohol was a factor in nearly 1 million deaths during that time period, with about half of these deaths resulting from liver disease, or a fatal overdose from alcohol or alcohol mixed with other drugs. In 2017 alone, 2.6% of roughly 2.8 million deaths in the United States involved alcohol.
What’s more, the CDC warned in a separate report on Thursday that binge drinkers (defined as four drinks during one occasion for women, and five drinks for men) are consuming more alcohol than they were before. The number of drinks they’ve knocked back spiked from 472 on average in 2011 to 529 in 2017, or a 12% increase.
And the number of binge drinks per adult who reported binge-drinking increased “significantly” in nine states, the report added, including Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, and Virginia. But it decreased significantly in Massachusetts and West Virginia, and did not change significantly in the other 30 states or D.C.

A lot of this has to do with the forced cultural change for both men and women. The left despises marriage, but is almost frantic for people to have uninhibited sexual activity.
Today a lot of girls get into that idea that they can have all sorts of sex with other people, but they will still be desirable when they want to settle down, even with illegitimate children. That is, a lot of the stupid ones.
The smarter girls realize that, like boys, they need to “market” themselves as being more useful than just sex toy and baby maker; and likewise they want a mate who is also responsible and useful.
But the stupid girls end up looking like they’re in their 50s when they are in their 30s, maybe with some kids, and no male wants anything to do with them. So they turn to alcohol.

I agree, as the demonization of whites grows, so do our pathologies.
I stopped drinking at age 50 after gall bladder surgery. Now 30 years later, I feel amazing physically. No smoking, no booze, and visit the Gym 5 times in a week is doing the trick. Age 100 in healthy condition is looking achievable.

well, its also one of the many reasons lots of American gals choose partners from other countries as well....
Lots of US men:fat, drunk, obnoxious, and just waiting to take everything you have.

I like to use their ‘logic’ against them with a bit of absurdity.
When getting lectured on the perils of drinking I would offer that one can get ‘addicted’ to water.
After all the ‘guffaws’ and a dressing down by the ‘instructor’, I would explain:
Get up every morning and go to the icebox and pull out that jug of ICE COLD water and take a good swig.
Do that as part of your daily routine.
The day that you ‘FORGET’ to refill the jug results in the next morning you grab the EMPTY jug and your day has started out miserably.
Isn’t that being ‘addicted’ to the nice swig of ice water every morning.
Needless to say I was considered a ‘thorn’ in the side of the instructor while the class thought I was ‘amusing’ (yes, I guess I was the Class clown many decades before).
When I was ‘released’ from the program a ‘nasty’ letter accompanied me.
However, I will venture to say that I would probably be hard put to find ANYONE else who took the class and - even with my negative attitude - am probably the ONLY one that has NEVER touch a drop in 30 years.
I use reverse psychology -
I set out to not do something and tell as many as I can, friends and foe alike, which gives me the incentive to make sure ‘YOU’ will never be able to say
“I knew you couldn’t do it”.
Like ‘they’ say, One Day at a time, and I say
‘whatever floats your boat, use it.
Lot of truth there. Know men that have lasting marriages with foreign women. But know two guys that married Russians and that didn’t end well.
That is both the saddest and funniest post I have ever read.
I pray that all addicts recover from their situation. I refuse to call it a disease.
