A good election topic Trump should run on. Peel off more of the gummers. Clinton got away with raising the tax in 93'. That was 3 years before the following election. It will mostly benefit those with retirement accounts already but it could add $4k/yr to a whole lot of seniors. Trump will win anyways. I say apply the couple gras. The whacko left needs to be put out off it's misery now not in 2024.
BTW Bill Nelson voted for the increase in 93’ and it didn’t hurt him with the Florida voters/retirees which suggests short memories. An election year is the time.
“apply the couple gras”
coup de grace?
spelchuk won’t save you, haha.
That was coup de gras.
Couple gras? Yep. Apply it a couple times. Or more.
I’ll alert the media.
I agree, no tax on SS.
I turn 66 in a few weeks. I’ll be able to get full SS and work at the same time. I’ll have to pay tax on 85% of my SS. Is trump talking about changing that?
One thing: If they increase the SS tax on folks like the “near future” me, they will effectively shrink the workforce. I’ll quit my job.
You want to get Seniors on Board?
All US Citizens and Legal Residents over the age of 65 that receive 50% or more of their Gross Annual Income from Social Security Payments, Shall be Exempt from All Tax on Property.
I didn’t spell it wrong. Somehow we get ‘corrected’ to a fault. Now about that tax elimination.
Taxing social security income is beyond stupid. You pay in as a tax, then when you get something back, that’s taxed, which is just like reducing what is paid in the first place.
Dumb. Just dumb.
For every $6 worth of entitlement that goes to seniors children under 16 will get $1. The Rats will point it out but most seniors have an “I got mine” attitude. I say peel them away.
They ya social security income?
How do we allow this?
I’m more of a masteca kind of guy, but to each his own.
And, schmaltz. Always have schmaltz.
93? Nelson was in office back then?
Isn’t that what happens every April 15? And we are all excited to see that check, right?
They tax the hell out of it. They pretend not to, but they do. Not only have they set things up so that the elderly can’t get jobs, but when they do, the bastards help themselves to the fruit of our labor.
Congratulations on reaching full retirement age. I have two more years to go, but my budget says work until 70.
