For several months, the family of Tinslee Lewis has been fighting to continue her treatment at the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas after the facility planned to end care.

Tinslee was born with a rare heart defect called Ebstein's anomaly and suffers from chronic lung disease and severe chronic pulmonary hypertension. The hospital planned to remove her from life-support after her physicians said she is suffering and her condition is irreversible, Cook Children's Health Care System spokeswoman Winifred King had said in a statement.

On Thursday, Judge Sandee B. Marion of the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals denied a temporary injunction filed by Tinslee's family in an effort to keep her on life support for several weeks.

Parents hoping for a Miracle.

Helluva decision to make for people that see Children as a Blessing, versus an inconvenience, I guess. :(

Why not move her to a skilled nursing facility?

A hospital is likely the worst place for her considering the risk of nosocomial infection.

This is basically always fatal, it appears. One case of extreme assistance that adequately addressed this shows how much work has to be done:

This is sad. There is no “good” outcome for anyone involved at this juncture.

Sometimes you have to leave it in God’s hands. Based on what little I gathered the baby is basically non treatable and only being kept alive by life support.

Give the pain killers, keep feed, and let God decide whether to take her.

No facility will accept her. She is so medically fragile, changing her diaper can send her into respiratory arrest. She is sedated 24/7.

The parent say she is a fighter. Time to take her off the machines to prove it. Otherwise you are just keeping her from a turkey better life with God.
