The Cleveland Browns and general manager John Dorsey have mutually agreed to part ways, the team announced on Tuesday. This comes after Dorsey met with owner Jimmy Haslam as the two tried to come an agreement on the restructured front office that Cleveland is set to endure. "We have a great appreciation for John and all he has done with the Cleveland Browns," Haslam said in a statement. "He has helped create a foundation that we need to continue to develop and build upon. While John helped greatly improve our team's talent and we are excited about the core players on our roster, we fully recognized that our team did not meet its potential on or off the field and additional changes in leadership give us the best opportunity for success in the future. As the role of the general manager continues to evolve in this league we felt there were areas that needed to be reassessed. Over the last 48 hours, we've had discussion with John about his role but could not come to an agreement on a position that would enable him to remain with the organization."

I think the bigger question is whether the Browns were willing to give Dorsey a free hand to pick that coach after he so thoroughly botched that decision the last time he hired a coach.
Of course, all sorts of conflicting reports out of Berea, so we may never know.
How many big time coaches want to move to Cleveland?
My head is spinning; so many coaching and GM changes in just a couple of days after the regular season ended.
Well, there are 20 teams, approximately, which did not make the playoffs, so there are many teams with room for improvement, shall we say.
This year seems lighter than usual on black Monday. The average yearly turnover is 8. We lost three in-season and 2 yesterday. Still expecting change in Dallas.
I'd trade him for a box of Crackerjacks without the prize.

Josh McDaniel and his wife are from Cleveland. No secret in Boston sports talk radio that his wife would like to be near family.
Jimmy Haslam is the worst owner in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns will always be the sad-sack doormat losers of the NFL as long as that idiot owns the team. Ownership is everything. Haslam is a jackass of biblical proportions. As long as Haslam is the owner, Browns fans will be suidical fans wearing paper bags over their heads.
Thank goodness I am a San Francisco 49ers fan. The good times are back! Superbowl of bust, baby!
"Finally! I certainly agree! Someone ... anyone ... else is the worst owner in the NFL!"
