Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is meeting again with head coach Jason Garrett on Tuesday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the two are scheduled to meet at noon CT and while a resolution is "likely," it is "not definite."

"Expectation continues to be Garrett and Dallas will part ways," Schefter notes. "But the Cowboys are run as a family, Garrett has been a part of family, and it’s hard to part ways."

A number of other teams have already made decisions regarding their futures. Since the conclusion of Week 17, the Browns have fired Freddie Kitchens and the Giants have dismissed Pat Shurmur. The Jaguars have decided to retain Doug Marrone and the Redskins have reportedly hired Ron Rivera to be their next head coach.

Yes

I react the same way when people describe business, church or political party as family. It is NOT family.

Well, I hung on until the Troy Aikman days. Then, I was done.

“Every NFL team is plagued by injuries.”

You are correct. However, what you do when your team is plagued by injuries is key. The Cowboys didn’t fare too well in that department.

Garrett is the only one associated with the Cowboys that I’ve had even the most casual of contact with. He seemed like a nice guy, and I wish him well. He’s an asset to the community.

"This is how long it's been since I followed the Cowboys, or the NFL for that matter.”

Before this game, I was a Vikings fan(I was twelve at the time)Ever since then I been a Cowboys fan.

Been many a lean year ever since.

Trust me, as a Gator, you do not want Meyer. Trust me on this.

It won't be Meyer. That would be like a step down.

It would have been John Harbaugh had Jerry pulled the trigger last year like he should have. But now Harbaugh has a new pony (and hey, Lamar really is the schizzle), so now Lincoln likely pulls the ejector seat out of the Sooners. Just nothing spacial about that dude to me.

Dad went to the Naval Academy a few classes in front of Roger Staubach. The Cowboys were my favorite team until the Seahawks came along, and since I live in Seattle, then they became my favorite. With the sacking of Staubach, and Landry, Dallas became a pox. South Americas team for a while, plus I didn’t like Aikman (and later found I despised Romo) they never found their way back in my favor. Since the Seahawks were in the AFC, the 49ers became my favorite NFC team with Joe Montana. Now the Hawks are in the NFC, and I cant stand the 49ers or the Cowboys.

"It won't be Meyer. That would be like a step down."

Clarify: It would be a step down for Meyer.

Jerry Jones makes hundreds of millions of Dollars on the Cowboys...win or lose.
He really does not care about winning the Super Bowl.

With all due respect as a life long Cowboy fan, Landry was washed up. He trained half the coaches in the NFL and he refused to modify his coaching techniques. He was very predictable towards the end.

Jones wants a yes man to coach, because he still naively believes he knows football, when in fact he knows franchising, but doesn’t know shit about the game. That’s why Garrett lasted so long, only Garrett doesn’t know shit about the game either. Jones problem is unless he dies or takes the unusual steps of being hands off, Cowboys will never win another Super Bowl, because he won’t find another coach willing to listen to or kiss his butt. That’s why Jimmy Johnson left.

Pro football is truly the modern day opium of the masses.

Fire him or keep him, the Cowboys are not going win a title until their defense gets better and Jones keeps his nose out of player decisions.

A team plagued by injuries all season

They much healthier than the Eagles and still got beat by them.

The Cowboys underachieved all year. Garrett is a joke. Jerry Jones is a joke. The only time Jerry won anything is when he let Jimmy Johnson have control of the team.

No, regarding Urban Meyer or any other college coach as the Dallas head coach!

Agree with you. Under Landry, the Cowboys had become easily predictable on both offense and defense.

Opponents knew his tendencies in most situations and took advantage.

Roger Staubach retired due to too many hits to his noggin; he wasn’t “sacked” by anyone in the head shed.

Aikman retired for the same reason... too many concussions.
