Some experts have already warned the space agency to take action should the asteroid enter the atmosphere as it can bring on calamities and disasters once it hits.I think I will stock up on duct tape long before it enters the atmosphere, but that's just me.

If we launched even a small missile and hit it now, we would change its trajectory, even minutely, to where it would be safely out of the way..............

Some experts have already warned the space agency to take action should the asteroid enter the atmosphere as it can bring on calamities and disasters once it hits. I suspect that once something 1700’ in diameter and going 63,000 mph enters the atmosphere, it may be late to try and do something.
Sheesh, where does the Express get these "experts"? From J-school?

I almost got hit by a tractor trailer the other day. It only missed me by 185k miles! That was a darn close shave, for something that big and fast.
It’s all a question of “perspective”.

The astronomers at NASA revealed that over the course of a few hundred thousand years, asteroids that would measure beyond a kilometer could potentially kill millions
By that time there will be no life left on earth.......

Why should we worry about RQ36 when Apophis is arriving (twice) in a few "years" (2029 & 2036), not many, many "decades"?
So... The things we need to worry about, by 2029, are:
- When will RGB die?
- Is Apophis still pissed about our use of the Stargate? and,
- Has moochelle been a good
presidente queen?

2175 or 2196.
If I were still going to be alive I would get a lawn chair a cooler full of beer and a good vantage point.
Best show ever.

Still might want to keep an eye on it

Naw, It will miss us and just fly close by next week. The only slight problem is it will change our orbit and we will head into the sun.
