Colin Kaepernick may not have an NFL job, but the social activist and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is proving he's still marketable as his new $110 Nike sneaker bearing his image sold out within minutes of its release on Monday.

Nike sold the shoes at its own stores, select retailers and via the SNKRS app. The sneakers can be acquired for resale, but one website, FlightClub.com, is asking as much as $950 for a pair.

Some retailers have agreed to donate profits to charities supported by the outspoken Kaepernick.

Nike has not released sales figures, but the Air Force 1 x Colin Kaepernick, which has his black-and-white likeness emblazoned on the back, is currently unavailable in North America, according to multiple reports.

Sounds like nice shoes. The last pair of athletic shoes I had before I got married (1978) were white canvas converse. Tough shoes. They took a long time to wear out.

Well, I have to thank Colin Kaepernick for one thing. Because of him, I gave up Nike and found some amazing New Balance sneakers that are made here in America.

I don’t know the politics of New Balance owner Jim Davis, but I do know his dedication to employing Americans as much as possible in his stateside plants in MA and ME. While NB went offshore, without which they couldn’t possibly compete, it has maintained that commitment, albeit limited, to U.S. production.

By not only maintaining jobs in the U.S., NB has also kept a hand in production, which has informed its engineering, NB’s strength.

People paying to hate America, the American Military, the American Flag, the American Citizens and those who died giving them a nation they could disrespect. And America continues despite their efforts to destroy America

What are the figures for that initial production? How many did they make?
