Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) on Sunday said a pair of his Republican colleagues who took issue with President Trump's July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president were wrong to suggest there was anything improper in the communication. CNN's Dana Bash asked Meadows on "State of the Union" to respond to Republican Reps. Mac Thornberry (Texas) and Mike Turner (Ohio) calling the phone call at the center of the impeachment inquiry inappropriate and alarming, respectively. They are wrong, Meadows said. With all do respect for my colleague I was in the depositions, he said, adding he was one of only a few House members to attend all the closed-door depositions of witnesses ahead of the public impeachment inquiries.

The Republican Party is dead. The way things are going, irregardless of 2020,the irrelevance and idiocy of the GOP may very well set us back permanently as a national relevant party. I see the GOP not selecting another true conservative president ever again.
You can turn off autocorrect, which helps a lot. You still need to proofread, and the device still wants to misspell words on your behalf. But the errors do decrease with autocorrect off.
I’m not a grammar nazi, I simply couldn’t resist the irony of grammar nazi being wrong.
It is a typical modern convenience. It actually can be helpful for speed's sake once you get the hang of watching the words that he device is anticipating before you hit the “space bar”. I typically leave it on when using a phone and off when using a tablet. But often the errors that are found when you take the time to carefully proofread are amusing, not to mention the ones that make it past scrutiny and actually get posted.
“he” vs “the”... actually typed on a PC... but could easily be blamed on Android.
Youre mistaken here. Meadows is the good guy here, calling Republican Congress Critters on their CRITICIZING Trumps call for being inappropriate. Meadows is saying it was perfectly appropriate for the President to request the investigation to root out corruption, while those he is criticizing were saying they were offended he asked for it, just that it did not rise to the level of impeachability. They were trying to play it both ways, being mealy-mouthed. Meadows says dont be faint in your support of Trump. Support him whole heartedly. Dont try to walk a tightrope between support and impeachment by saying you didnt like what he said.
“”Actually its with all due respect, not dew or do.””
That’s funny - I think the person correcting the poster is probably embarrassed to not make sure they got it right themselves. There are some of us who just naturally pick up on something like that - like the thread this morning referring to 9/11/2001 but it in the topic as 9/11/2018. I commented on that and was admonished!! It was called a typo - a typo is making a mistake hitting the wrong key. Getting the year wrong is not a matter of hitting wrong keys. It was done good-naturedly so no harm...
“”And dont even try to teach writers the proper uses of less and fewer.””
And while we’re on the subject - don’t leave out:
BRING (brought) and TAKE (took).......
Did you bring your TV in for repairs or did you take it in for repairs?
Interesting what comes out of that. English is fun but not when people aren’t using it properly as we see here on a daily basis.
I don’t understand - Turner from OH has been an outstanding member at the hearings and spoke out at every chance about the unfairness of the whole impeachment inquiry. I absolutely do not agree with him on this video about his thoughts on Joe McCarthy but that’s not the purpose of the post....
This is link is all I could find right now with Turner in it but there must be a lot more and more current so why on earth is he now counted as one Republican who will vote for impeachment?
This one is really funny as it shows how SERIOUS they were in March 2019 about a different “crime” entirely. Do they even know how many versions they’ve gone through?
Poor shifty - looks like he wants to cry in this last one while he’s chewing out Turner. He even had his notes handy to read from to light into Turner - how did he know what he would need to say?
This is link should have read “this link”........
I stand corrected. I thought Meadows was criticizing the President. Again. The president can damn well say anything he wants to a foreign leader, whether Congress likes it or not.
I should have read better - I’m trying to do ten things at once....doesn’t work. The article wasn’t about Turner voting FOR impeachment - it was Meadows taking him to task for saying the president’s phone call to Ukraine was inappropriate. THAT is what surprised me... Now I’ll get on to the other 9 things I need to take care of!
“”irregardless”” - no such word!
HA! The grammar Nazi are out in full force today - I was probably one of the first to be chastised early on but it’s been going on all day...so grin and bear it.
Can we erase this whole thread and start over? I am really confused as the very first sentences in the article seem contradictory to me. You said, “Meadows is full of it” and yet he seemed to be speaking against his fellow colleagues and wasn’t critiquing the president.. Time to hang it up, I guess...take a vacation!! I’ve had this wrong from the start.

I believe you sent a post to the wrong person.
