Hidden in Plain Sight - Did a Secret Service Agent Accidentally Shoot JFK?
Medium True Crime ^ | Oct. 8, 2017 | Bonar Menninger

early 1989, I was working as a business reporter in Washington, D.C., and interviewing a private investigator for a story about his company. At the end of our conversation, he casually mentioned he’d done some research into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“Oh yeah?” I said, in an ironic, indifferent way. “So who killed him?” He said: “Well, I think this gunsmith in Baltimore, a guy named Howard Donahue, figured it out.” The private eye showed me a magazine article from 1977 and as I read it, my skepticism began to fade. Within a week, I was heading to nearby Towson, Maryland, to meet Donahue in person.

Donahue’s Dealey Plaza odyssey began 21 years earlier. The World War II veteran was a firearms specialist who’d testified as an expert witness in multiple shooting cases. He was also a well-known marksman. That’s why he’d been recruited to take part in a CBS News reenactment of the shooting in the spring of 1967.

The network wanted to know if Lee Harvey Oswald’s Italian military-surplus, bolt-action rifle really could have been fired three times with two hits on a moving target in less than six seconds. Donahue proved that it could. Of the 11 shooters participating in the experiment, only Donahue exceeded Oswald’s performance by scoring three hits in 4.8 seconds, well under the 5.6-second maximum....

Sorry, but I’m one of these nutjobs that believes that LHO did indeed murder President Kennedy.

The article doesn't disprove Oswald's assassination attempt but rather adds another element that may have been overlooked in the investigation.......

This makes more sense than anything else I’ve read. The only thing I would want to know before I bought off on this completely is: How many spent brass did they find in Oswald’s hide? If they only recovered two, well, pretty much case closed for me. If they recovered three... still not resolved.

Oh BS!
JFK’s brain was blown all over the trunk of the limo. Jackie crawled back to grab a big hunk of his head/brain.
Anyone who has ever hunted with a high power rifle knows the round creates a small entry wound and a large exit wound. High velocity round would also knock the target back from direction of the gunshot.
If he had been shot from behind, his brain and part of his face would have been sprayed all over the dash and he would have fallen into the floorboard area in front of his seat.
Plus the round through his through was front to back.
Here’s an interesting website: http://www.jfksouthknollgunman.com/index.php/04-2-bullet-hole/

It was in November, so not the Prom. Perhaps Hillary invited him to a Sadie Hawkins Day dance.

I don’t think it was a snark comment.

You took it wrong if you thought that. And to the extent it may have been snarky, it wasn’t addressed toward you - unless you’re the author.

Nope, Oswald. If Oswald, who failed at everything life did one thing right he became a United States Marine. You don't earn The Globe and Anchor unless you qualify as a marksman. Oswald did that much. He knew how to shoot.

Nailed it. That is perfectly plausible due to the fragmentation information. Why has this not been brought out before? Crooked government covering for Secret Service agent who would have been exonerated anyway because it was an accident. THIS I do believe.

An ultra high speed bullet fits with JFK’s skull flapping around. Hydraulic shock is from high speed. Those 7mm rounds are big and heavy, not fast.

Yes, exactly. And, the Secret Service knew it then. What a big lie to carry around until everyone who lived then dies. That is about the sum total of government operation at every level.

Read “Reclaiming History,” by Vincent Bugliosi.

Yup

The route was changed last minute.
I think there was a new security detail, IIRC.

Then, there’s the slow down of the limo on a straight line, right at the point of maximum triangulation.

Posner’s book started the change.

Bugliosi’s book closed the circle.

It was Oswald.

Those who think otherwise simply haven’t read those two books. Or are incapable of using common sense.

You are absolutely correct. However, the bullets Oswald fired were larger than the entry hole in the skull.....

The bullets Oswald fired were nominally 6.5 millimeters in diameter (although actually slightly larger at 6.75 millimeters to allow the rounds to expand against the concentric rifling grooves inside the gun barrel). The entrance wound on the back of Kennedy’s skull was 6 millimeters wide.

“Why could there not have been two assassins, independent of each other from two separate orgs that wanted to kill JFK?”

Well, you’re not just adding improbabilities there, you are multiplying them.

Say, disregarding all other variables to keep it simple, there were 10 days that anyone could have chosen to try to assassinate JFK. The basic chance that some conspiracy chooses any day out of those ten is .10 or 10%. The basic chance that two conspiracies both pick the SAME day out of the ten is .10 * .10 = .01 or 1%.

That’s just to show how a single coincidence multiplies the improbability. There would be other variables, like choosing to try to assassinate him in the first place, and the time of day or particular spot and method to use. Pretty soon you’d be dealing with infintessimals.

Like I said most conspiracy theorists are leftists who don’t want to admit that a commie did it.

I could make a much stronger case that the KGB was behind the attempted Reagan Assassination, but they don’t seem to want to spend any time on pursuing that.
