JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told a Christian broadcaster she learned her husband was seeking a divorce in an email from his attorney.
The revelation came in an interview released Tuesday with James Dobson, founder of the Family Talk Christian ministry. He said the interview had been conducted previously.
Palin said she received an email June 19 from the attorney, almost three months before Todd Palin filed for divorce on his birthday in September.
She described the filing that came shortly after their 31st wedding anniversary as devastating. I thought I got shot, she said.
Palin said theyre going through counseling and their marriage isnt over, over. She said attorneys are getting rich off them.

I knew an asshole who had his wife served with divorce papers at her place of employment on Valentine’s day.
pathetic. I knew one that told his wife he was taking a weekend trip and then fedexed the divorce papers to her. She was THE nicest person I had ever met. Ended up dying of cancer, compounded no doubt, from the stress.
Parents, just teach your daughters this one thing: The best time to find a husband is in your college days. You will never again find such a selection of guys.
That, and if a woman is more interested in her career than in her husband, there are women out there who are very willing to replace her in his affections.
I know it happens; and I know there are, as someone else suggested ‘con artists’. But I just can’t believe that after 30 years of marriage, Palin’s husband suddenly showed himself to be a con artist; or that after all those years there was no lead-up to this, and it just ‘happened.’
I’m glad you came out of it well. Divorce can be the most horrible thing many people live through.
It is virtually impossible to have a civilized society without some form of arbitrator/arbitration system to address disputes! Unless, of course, you live in Utopia!
How many males move to/born-in Alaska want to gain notoriety—local, national, international!?
I think an extremely small number. So here he is, wanting to hunt and fish, party with the guys, etc., and suddenly all eyes of the world are on his family. Defaming/ridiculing his wife and family with limited, to no, recourse!
Had to be tough on both. All!
If you find out about the divorce from your husband's attorney then yeah, it is over. Sign the papers and move on with your life.
Man up and stop blaming women for your little troubles.
you sound like a POS libtard
What troubles? Did I say I had any troubles? Again sounds like more shaming language used as an attempt to dismiss valid points.
Oh, and telling a man to man up is a manipulation tactic designed to get him to do what you want him to do and to ignore his own best interest. Man up equals man down. Always!
Excuse me? What the eff are you talking about?
You’re a bitter guy. One can only imagine your history, lol.
not sure what your details are but I do know shitty people run deep on both sides of the fence (yes, there are only 2 sides...boys and girls :)).
There are alot of bad women out there that treat men terrible and then alot of bad judges that compound things by ruling very unfavorably towards men.
good points all the way around.
It may have to do with the child; but everything you wrote could equally apply to the effect of sudden national fame/notoriety and all the crap that went along with it.
(Even winning the lottery in a big way, has destroyed - or changed drastically the dynamics - of marriages and family relations.)
Slippin’ around? Tired of being in the background?
True.
Whenever I hear/read about large lottery winners I say a prayer for them and their families.
I tell my beloved I’d rather have a lot of folks win smaller amounts rather than larger-than-life amounts.
Can you imagine all the life-trouble, paranoia, boring management duties, and all sorts of other *noise* that come into one’s life with a sudden shower of millions and millions of dollars?
Though it’s often interesting to think about the various things that one could fund, to help ‘the World’ - I’m too old to want to deal with that kind of trouble.
There are too many books that I want time to read :-)
