When I am there, I will ask bartenders, waitresses/waiters, Cashiers, guests at B&Bs "How do you like your healthcare"? Almost without exception, they are love it.
One shop owner said that if they ever did away with their healthcare there would be a revolution.
Those over 65 do not have to pay for any drugs.
Although I am not in favor of universal coverage, I have yet to hear one complaint about their healthcare.
are most of the people you are talking to Quebecers?
Quebecers are more euro than new world.
I also understand that they suck more wealth from the other provinces than they contribute.

...
Then I would ask them to what extent they used it.
I think we should have community clinics that anybody can go to paid for by lottery sales so the poor pay for it. Meanwhile, there can be private clinics paid for by cash for normal maintenance things or private insurance for big things. The public clinics can be staffed by volunteers, or as part of community service by doctors and nurses who got DUIs. Perhaps a few male ob-gyn doctors from the middle east to ensure diversity
When you steal IP, drugs are naturally cheaper.

you need to spend some time researching online- the folks you are talking to who ‘love it’ very likely don’t face major health concerns and emergencies- and they just love getting medicines for ‘free’ not realizing that they are still paying through the nose for HC via taxes-
The itnernet is loaded with horror stories abotu Canadian HC-
one other quick point- doctors there aren’t paid nearly what they are hear- so you aren’t going to get the quality care you receive here as their doctors aren’t motivated knowing the gov has set the limits on what can be charged-
Socialized HC sucks- Even here, there is a marked difference in the level of care a medicare patient gets and what someone with full blown insurance gets- Take away all private health insurance, and doctors all of a sudden don’t make anywhere near what doctors who can charge private health insurance full cost do-
Yeah.....because they are all dead and cremated/buried.
I am on the fence about socialized healthcare myself. The reason for this is that In the last few years I have traveled to Canada, England, France, and Italy. During these trips I have made it a point to talk to the locals about their healthcare system and all I have talked to love it. Not one person I talked to wanted it changed.
I also did not observe any sort of political push to get rid of it. If it was as bad as we are lead to believe in the US wouldnt there be marches in the street in support of a free market system?
In this story the person had to wait seven months for an MRI. Under our system how many times are procedures not allowed by insurance companies? I have to think that the 6 billion plus dollars in profit that the six top health insurers made in 2017 could be better spent on actual healthcare. How much would it help businesses if they no longer had to provide health insurance for heir employees?
Id like an honest discussion about the pros and cons of both systems instead of the constant scare tactics we get from both sides.
