Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran, is moving to rival CBS News. She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks. Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the networks main news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.
The 55-year-old Harvard and Columbia University graduate was with Fox News since its inception in 1996.
I have received great personal satisfaction from mentoring the next generation of reporters and producers and sharing my journalistic values that facts matter and enterprise reporting will always win the day, Herridge said in a statement.
Jay Wallace, president of Fox News Media, also lauded Herridge for her award-winning journalism.
As a founding employee, over the last 23 years, Catherine Herridge has been an asset to Fox News. From her breaking news headlines at the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to her reporting after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the investigation into Princess Dianas death, she has always been at the forefront of every beat she has covered, Wallace said in a statement. We are grateful for Catherines many contributions to the network, wish her continued success and were proud to honor her as she received the Tex McCrary Award for Journalism last week from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for her enterprise reporting at Fox News.

CBS seeing the light?
I really like her. I wonder if they will let her report what she finds on CBS.
Yeah, what use could CBS possibly have for a reporter?
“CBS seeing the light?”
Unfortunately, as FNC becomes Faux News for real, it’s probably Catherine Herridge who is seeing the light.
But, she'll retire well.
i don’t know if it’s abrupt. i noticed she started sprucing herself up for on-camera spots about a month ago - make up, haircut, outfits. maybe she thinks she can turn the lights on at CBS. i am skeptical and hope this isn’t a disaster for her.
I think it is possible that she retired on the Job at CBS
I think CBS bought her to get rid of her on Fox.
No, they just want to reign her in and control the truth from being reported!! She fell for the money..watch them destroy her if she even blinks at reporting the truth! SHE’S COOKED...damn stupid mistake!!
“It’s a cookbook!”
Even CBS might be able to see what’s coming.
I’m sure that Fox could match their money, so is there something here that doesn’t meet the eye?
Bravo! The best humor is subtle.
You might be right. The networks are probably scrambling to save face as much as possible and try to deflect attention away from themselves as being part of the coup
Great reporter. Great sources who trust her.
Has been with Fox since its inception.
Apparently Fox did not value her services.
Her contact expired in the summer.
The Murdoch brothers were too cheap
to pay her.
LOLOLOL! Excellent!
Is it possible that CBS sees the mega shitstorm (Barr-Durham indictments) on the horizon that is about to rain down on the Democrats, and they want a clear thinking someone in the know to be able to report on it? Because none of the Alphabet (!) networks have anyone reporting on any of this.
60 minutes reporter now. An army of production coordinators and editors to keep her busy on assignments like Ebola cleanup and war lords in Uzbekistan sharing meatloaf recipies.
LOL!!
She should have been given Shepherd Smiths slot.
