You know that the news of the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi during a raid by US forces came as a terrible blow . . . to the liberal media. Their first reaction was surely to worry that this success would strengthen President Trump.
And so the MSM predictably is going about its business of downplaying the significance of the event—and even seeking to turn it into a negative. Take, for example, Yasmin Vossoughian, guest-hosting Joy Reid's MSNBC AM Joy show this morning, and doing her best to find the cloud on the silver lining. She managed a magnificent bit of concern trolling with this line:
"I wonder here if this type of killing only reinforces the ideology of Baghdadi’s followers? And in fact, strengthens it?"

Great response. It used to be our differences ended at the water’s (ocean) edge. That seems to have who ended with Clinton, then Carter post presidencies.
It shouldn’t matter who is sitting in the WH when a notorious enemy is taken out. Criticism of obozo and bin laden was because of how the demokraps/media turned it into campaign material for them ... it was focused obozo’s “great leadership, resolve, decision-making, risk,” blah blah blah. Even HRC was in the situation room picture for future campaign reference. The focus should have been on the killing of bin laden - but it was on obozo...
And it would have been wrong for anyone to point out back then that obozo was claiming credit even though the demokraps have been anti-US defense, voted against many military spending bills as a party and for cutting/gutting defense, the reality is that those who passed these defense bills over decades made it possible for bin laden to be killed. The dispute ends at the water’s edge.
