The Iranian and Syrian leaderships have stressed since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis to protect the people and safeguard the security and rights of the Syrian people.

Amir Abdallahian said in a statement Monday that statements made by some media about the Islamic Republic’s message to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during the outbreak of the terrorist war against that country had not been fully reflected.

“During the terrorist war on Syria, the leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated the need to distinguish between terrorists and civilians, and the leaders of the two countries were very focused on this issue,” he said.

“Unfortunately, some foreign media falsely tried to slander me and convey my tongue about the legitimate president of Syria and the hero of the struggle against terrorism in this important country in the region,” he said.

Since the beginning of the terrorist crisis in Syria, the Iranian and Syrian leaderships stressed the need to protect the people, while safeguarding the security and rights of the Syrian citizens, which the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed, was a red line for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
