Thousands of US millennials are priced-out of the dating market, a new study has shown.
Researchers found that a third of Generation Y are reluctantly single because they can't afford to pursue love.
According to the data, financial instability is hampering their ability to find 'the one' because it's forcing them to budget, instead.
Meanwhile, a quarter of respondents even said they would happily have sex with a human-like robot - but this would still be classed as cheating my half of partners.

Too much focus on the latest gadgets, clothes, and cars.
There's no America without families.
The proper rearing of a family has a scriptural base and without a scriptural teaching and understanding there is no scriptural base and no family and no America.
I could add a few more but you get the picture.
We all know American commercials teach men are stupid and women are the more capable and smarter.
You never hear about warlocks but there are plenty of witches around.
etc., etc.
Hadn't thought of that angle. With shows like "Bridezilla" and others, weddings became horribly glorified. There was one other where there were two competing wedding parties and the winner got a honeymoon vacation, and people were spending $30,000 or more to win a $5,000 vacation, while their friends sat around critiquing the weddings.
When my brother got married, it was at his wife's mother's house, there were a few friends and a home made cake. No tuxedo rentals, florists or paid bands, wet bars or DJs. Although lavish weddings have been a thing with the rich for years, weddings as performance art in the middle class are relatively new.
Dates can be relatively inexpensive. Showing off costs money.
How much is your S-bucks coffee costing every morning and do you do any of your own cooking and laundry and do you pay someone to come in and hang a picture for you?
“So dating is becoming a luxury item like marriage. Dinner and a movie no longer is enough. I wonder how much of this is due to shows like “The Bachelor” where “courtship” involves over the top and expensive “dates”. “
How about we have millions of visa holders, permanent residents and illegals taking jobs? I’ve stopped assisting them at my job. If they want something I just ignore them.
And college debt.
I guess paying $8 for a starbucks coffee everyday or getting a new Iphone upgrade every year or downloading apps is more important....the next thing you know they will claim they can’t repay their student loans majoring in communications or something..........................
“...they would happily have sex with a human-like robot...”
In other news, inflatable doll stocks tumble.
One of our more memorable dates was 2x lawn chairs in the back of my work truck and a bottle of Boon’s Farm listening to a free concert in the city park. It started to rain so we threw a blue tarp over us. CLASSY!
The car(s), house(s) and income all pretty much kept pace with the addition of kids.
We were (first wife home with the Lord in 2004) born again Christians, faithful and tithers, all the stuff the non believer ridicules, but we were never hingry, cold, alone, without a home or car and always had a few dollars for McDonalds or something ..... for twenty years.
I re-married a born again Filipina in 2010 and we want for nothing.
That's all I know to say .... my testimony.
I had to think about the “In Living Color” “Dating Game” spoof.
Say what you will about Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx, but they were hilarious here.

“Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders soon to promise a Federal dating subsidy for millennials.”
LOL
LOL. True dat!
And I’ve heard that growing numbers of people at work, are having services such as grub hub deliver lunch everyday.
Add up all.of these incidental expenses and there are big money savings possible, in people’s personal finances.
being saying it. Student Loans is the #1 cause for guys marrying later.
I think the bigger problem is that with social media and texting...people just dont communicate with each other as well as they used to. A quiet night together might be too much to handle for some of these people.
That is exactly what many are doing.
Women have discovered they can get all the perks of having multiple BF with none of the commitment problems.
It is much more common than the “I don’t have $$$ to date”
So a quarter of the responders can’t afford the robot?
Or maybe, just maybe, their expectations concerning what they “need” economically to make a marriage work are totally unrealistic?
