America’s largest teachers union has resolved to incorporate the concept of “white fragility” into its staff training and development programs, literature, and “other existing communications on social, gender, LGBTQIA, and racial justice,” to the extent that existing budgets and context permit.
The proposal was approved by delegates to the National Education Association’s recent annual conference in Houston.
The NEA offered this rationale for the action: “White supremacy culture has fashioned a social norm insulating white people from the impact of racial stress, which consequentially constructs a social atmosphere that depresses the ability of society, in general, to tolerate racial stress, also known as ‘White Fragility.’”
The term appears to have been coined by sociologist Robin DiAngelo, and is part of the title of a book she wrote, “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard For White People To Talk About Racism.” DiAngelo says on her website that North American white people have been insulated and protected from “race-based stress,” which is created when people encounter situations or surroundings that are racially unfamiliar.

So the solution is a cross between Marxism and Taliban ism which is to tear down and destroy everything you do not agree with rather than rise above work towards prosperity. These people are crazy. And the lessons were already learned in the last century but history is doomed to repeat itself.

Meanwhile, a black person gets asked to leave Starbucks because they’re a non-paying customer and it’s a crisis.

Evolution, survival of the fittest. Somehow, white people ended up on top of human civilization. Assuming evolution is fact, then one must conclude white people are better suited to be at the top.

After years of bashing white people, without enough progress tearing them down, the leftist educational system has decided to plant the seed in the minds of children that white people are somehow inferior.

Up into the 1990s, I think the country was on a solid trajectory of improvement for race relations. Starting with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and general social awareness through greater integration in real life and on TV and in movies, it was really hard to maintain much of an Us-vs-Them attitude. For White people, it was more and more an attitude of “people are people”.
It wasn’t perfect (nothing ever is) but it was really good and only people who were really aware at that time can really remember how much of a non-issue race had become.
But that has all been thrown aware now. From the LA riots, and OJ, and Trayvon Martin, and Obama, and the current crew of morons, it’s all over. It’s gone.
Race situation in the US is very bad. And they better pray that it doesn’t burst out into the open. Because the hatred is on both sides now. That should scare them.

I am amazed at how many Freepers are unfamiliar with this concept. You might not be interested in identity politics, but identity politics is very interested in you. You are fighting for abstract ideas like Natural Law, freedom, liberty, markets, etc ... The Left just wants you dead, whitey; literally killed off, just bred out of existence, either is good with them.

I can completely understand why someone might suggest ‘white people’ are a top of human civilization if you measure these things in a eurocentric way (particularly in the greco-roman western perspective) with an emphasis on the importance of ‘civilization’ which almost no one questions, even non euro-centric thinkers, but it’s still hard to parse your statement as not sounding pretty damned white supremacist.
