Subject: In Town Pool Report #6 - “Robert Mueller did a poor job”

The president said Mueller did “horrible” in both his testimony and the handling of the investigation. However, he added that Mueller didn’t have much to work with.

Trump said the testimony is being widely called a “disaster” for the Democrats and noted this was even happening on two “nauseating” television networks.

President Trump finished speaking to reporters and walked towards the helicopter. On the way, he waved to supporters who waited outside the residence.

Trump walked on board Marine One at 4:42 pm.

Good afternoon,

Marine One landed at Joint Base Andrews at 4:56 pm. POTUS waved to pool without stopping to speak and then boarded AF1 at 5 pm. We should be wheels up shortly.

POTUS is off to Wheeling, W.V., where he’s slated to speak at a private fundraising committee reception in support of Trump Victory. An RNC official said about 1,000 attendees are expected at the event at WesBanco Arena and that the fundraiser is expected to bring in $2.5 million. The Intelligencer/Wheeling News-Register reported earlier this week (>http://www.theintelligencer.net/news/top-headlines/2019/07/president-trump-returning-to-wheeling-for-2020-campaign-fundraiser/<) that the event is being hosted by Robert E. Murray, president and CEO of Murray Energy, and that politicians from both West Virginia and Ohio are expected to attend.

Among those the pool saw joining POTUS on AF1 was Dan Scavino.

Subject: Travel pool #2 — Arrival in Wheeling, W.V.

Air Force One landed at Wheeling Ohio County Airport at 5:52 pm after an uneventful and relatively quick flight. Fox News was available in flight. It aired wall-to-wall coverage of the Mueller hearing, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s reaction.

Mueller has helped me come to the conclusion that boomers are not capable of internalizing how incompetent and corrupt our elites are, nor can they disbelieve what they hear on TV. (”Suprising - we heard he was such a good/great guy & had right pedigree, etc.).

They can, in the moment, realize the error in a given particular (”wow, Mueller was unimpressive” or “maybe his reputation was undeserved”), but they cannot derive from this any true universal principles: “Elite education and reputation is often a sham, TV lies to you, etc.”
