This past weekend, St Louis held a parade for the Blues hockey team winning their first ever Stanley Cup. 1.5 million people showed up. No one got shot, no one got beat up, and no one went to jail.

I’m surprised. St. Louis is the ghetto of the midwest.
Not exactly true. Many parts of STL are very ghetto, and other parts are not. Trouble is STL is geographically pretty small, so you can be in a perfectly safe part of town, but not that far from a dangerous part.
And then there’s the fact that most hockey fans are not ghettoish. The STL powers that be are very careful to protect fans going to Cardinals and Blues games. There are a lot of police on the streets near the venues.
