Not exactly true. Many parts of STL are very ghetto, and other parts are not. Trouble is STL is geographically pretty small, so you can be in a perfectly safe part of town, but not that far from a dangerous part.

And then there’s the fact that most hockey fans are not ghettoish. The STL powers that be are very careful to protect fans going to Cardinals and Blues games. There are a lot of police on the streets near the venues.

STL is like most towns. There’s good parts...and bad parts. With STL the bad parts are exceptionally bad.

I think the demographics of NBA fans and hockey fans may be different. I’ll qualify that by saying that I haven’t watched an NBA game in over 20 years and I’m not a hockey fan either. I do think I’m correct in my assessment however.
