Anticipation is growing for the Supreme Courts biggest decisions of the year. With just two weeks left in the month of June, the justices have yet to issue rulings in 24 cases, including high-profile decisions that will affect the census citizenship question and partisan gerrymandering. The final stretch may also signal how the new conservative majority will rule on other major cases down the line, providing a glimpse of some of the issues the justices could take up when their next term starts in October. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg suggested in remarks delivered earlier this month that split decisions on the court could be expected before the end of this term.

She lives?
RBGs comments are a good sign. If Roberts was siding with the libs, I dont think RBG would have described the ruling as sharply divided. She would have called it a bipartisan consensus or something.
Just before the Obamacare ruling, Ginsburg said something about “taxing”, hinting that the Obama care mandatory penalty would be ruled as a “tax.” I don’t remember her saying something about a lot of 5-4 decisions then. If she mentioned 5-4 decisions now, it means she is on the losing side of 5-4 decisions this summer. We shouldn’t jump to conclusions that it means she lost on the census question.
I got that impression too. It seemed odd for her to make those recent comments about split decisions. I too figured the liberals were on the losing side of some key cases.
Some may not know, but the opinions are already decided. But it takes time for the justices to write their opinions, so they don’t publicly disclose outcomes when they initially vote in private on the cases. So Ginsburg knows what’s coming down, but is not really at liberty to talk about it in detail.
The notion that we sit around at the end of June to wait the pronouncements of the philosopher kings all but makes me physically ill. The founders are spinning in their graves
The census decision shouldnt be close. The President should win easily. A 5-4 decision would show how politicized SCOTUS really is. The courts have become a cruel joke at all levels.
they might issue decisions on other than Mondays this month or stay to July 1?
Not sure where on this to look https://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/calendarsandlists.aspx

I have no confidence in Roberts. He is dishonest and a coward.

tomorrow at 10am start to click on ‘opinions ‘... opinions of the court.
but all of the media will report the major cases once released
Who’s writing RBG’s opinions now?
We don’t have a conservative majority.
We have four leftists, two moderates and three conservatives.
Judge Zombie.
I used to think he sided with the libs because of his adopted kids but they’re adults now so what gives?
I don't know, but some possibities:
Is there a citizenship issue? If the adoption was irregular, this could come up, and I would not put it beyond the RATs to accept Obozo on the most flimsy lies, but try to blackmail Roberts on the issue.
The kids are still only young adults. If kids the same age are shot holding up a store they immediately become "child victims of gun violence". He does not want his own children to become child victims of political violence.
The kids are probably in college now. Lots of potential stigma.
It would be embarrassing for Roberts to have something illegal from his past come up...
It speaks, the Ruth mummy?
