Let's talk about UFOs.
To be clear, your friend and humble narrator does not wear a tinfoil hat, nor does this reporter believe the U.S. government is competent enough to keep proof of alien life secret from the American public.

Any drone that could fly from Russia or China to the United States' East Coast would have to be at least as large as an MQ-9 Reaper and the data link used to fly the aircraft would be detectable, said retired Air Force Maj. Gen. James Poss, who served as the service's former assistant deputy chief of staff for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

So with this outside threat we have to rally together and support our government.

The aliens are here on earth. they came from a planet that blew up between mars and jupiter. they moved to mars but the atmosphere was stripped away so they started again on earth. they have aircraft but they cant fly faster than light, so they are stuck here in this solar system with us, forever.
Their main base is in Antarctica. That is where many Nazis went after the war.
You have a choice. You believe Albert Einstein and the General Theory of Relativity. Or you can believe that UFO’s are mechanical and biological entities that originated in place many light years away. (That is the distance, almost unimaginable, that something travelling at the speed of light would cover in one year). You can’t believe both without deluding yourself. There is another, more rational explanation for these observations.
Based on the above (and common sense), it appears that whatever is being observed is not Chinese or Russian. The government wouldn't stand by and let its advisors to this series alarm the public by suggesting these are craft developed by our enemies.
And it is hard to believe the DOD would allow this series to go forward with all its current and former government employees in advisory capacities if it purports to unveil new vehicles from the U.S. drawing board.
That said, it is also hard to believe that this is going to end in some kind of government "disclosure."
They are demons.

What purpose would ‘demons’ have in presenting as aircraft?

How would aircraft prove to mankind that there is no God?
If they are aliens, can they please kidnap Democraps and bring them to another galaxy hopefully a billion light years away?
They are ours, and rather than “bragging” outright about our advanced weapons tech like Russia and China do, we put on a “show”.
Not according to all the articles I saw. The “UFO’s” were radar anomalies, and when the pilots attempted to view them with the naked eye, within in a range where they should have been visible, the pilots were unable to see anything physical in the air. So they didn’t actually “see” anything, which is a very important distinction. The radar itself was a newly developed interface/system, as well, that that had been recently retrofitted on the airplanes.
Isn't your thinking a bit linear in concluding that space must be traveled as the crow flies?
And not to jump to the conclusion that we are looking at aliens here but, if we were, mightn't they be from another dimensions instead of another planet?
Your repetitive concern (from thread to thread) about linear space travel is like a man in San Fran in 1900 insisting that the only way West from NYC will always and only be by train and coach.
Just returned from a Western Caribbean cruise with my daughter. On the first morning we got up before sunrise, as is our cruising custom, for coffee and a walk along the upper decks when no one is there. To take in the ship and check things out. She’s looking out and asks me what is that boat out there and I see it is a lit up shrimp boat or something similar perhaps 8 - 10 miles out. Then, about 10 degrees to the north of the boat was a solid red light above the water. It was closer than the ship. It was zipping around in the sky, staying around the same height, maybe 500’ - 1000’ above the water. Just darting around, back and forth. She’d never seen a UFO so it was neat for her.
Where are the demons from? And how do they get here?
