Not according to all the articles I saw. The UFOs were radar anomalies, and when the pilots attempted to view them with the naked eye, within in a range where they should have been visible, the pilots were unable to see anything physical in the air. So they didnt actually see anything, which is a very important distinction. The radar itself was a newly developed interface/system, as well, that that had been recently retrofitted on the airplanes.
Cmdr David Fraver and others have made visual confirmations.
In fact, the only observation of the craft in the water under the tic-tac was visual.

No doubt a radar anomaly can be deliberately put onto a radar screen by a Govt. entity
One time while bringing up a boat from the Bahamas to Boston I inadvertently bungled my way into an offshore military operation off Norfolk VA.
The first clue came when I saw on the radar an object coming at me from behind with incredible speed. It turned out to be an aircraft.
Then I stared to get green splats on the screen that kept up until the whole screen was blotted out and I could not see the military ships on the screen.
Eventually the radar screen returned to normal when I was miles from the military operation.- Tom
It was such an anomaly that started the Vietnam War... see Admiral Stockdale’s bio In Love and War.
That’s sort of where I was going with this. There is either a new radar, radar software or networking anomaly. Sort of an aerial Gulf of Tonkin where the USN was shooting at radar phantoms.
When you’re entering a world of stealth combat aircraft there is a premium on tuning your own radar to a knife’s edge. The downside is you could be picking up a lot of garbage.
I take it that wasnt the Episode about the TicTac that You watched ?
The TicTac was Visually IDd by Multiple Aviators at the same time and location.
No, they are claiming to see live UFOs with their eyes. In particular, the tic tacs UFOs as reported by the Nimitz pilots who witnessed it and the video released by the DOD. Maybe some instances are just radar blips.
I am 100% in agreement with you, as long as real objects are not being seen with real eyeballs vs. RADAR images.
