Try actually reading the article. Recall that the Sun is not a rigid body.

The Sun is in a solar minimum, the earths mag field is moving. Induction happens all of the time. I wonder if the movement of the fluid in the core is a result of the solar mag field. At least in part. Is the core ferrous? Wonder too if core has hysteresis.

There’s no connection that I’ve heard of between the sun’s magnetic field and the earth’s. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one.

... "Using computer simulations," ...

I stopped there. There are lies, and damned lies. And THEN there are statistics. But THEN EVEN AFTER THAT there are computer simulations.

The liberals call the latter 'science.'

A guy at work said today (software developers) "After 20 years of sofware, I know that there is no such thing as a correct dataset." Now THERE we're talking about people trying to be accurate - not bribed on federal grants.

A computer simulation takes a dataset, pours gas into its tank, steps on the accelerator, drives 4 million days, and you expect that wherever that dang car stops is indicative of something? It's a roulette wheel. Spin it enough times and eventually you'll land where you want. Rig the wheel, and you'll land where you want enough to look like you know something.

Nope - hard enough just to get just the dataset close when you're being accurate and honest and smart.

I'm not tooling on your post actually, I'm tooling on the climate simulators. But I'm really tooling on all computer simulations that don't begin with a provable, exact, repeatable, complete, knowable dataset.

I read their theory. That's enough.

And those moving charged particles flying through space from the sun... create a mag field. Seems reasonable that these sources would interact with the Earth’s mag field. Must reach some level of equilibrium.

They are electrically charged, and so some of them get trapped in earth’s magnetic field forming the Van Allen belt. Others get pulled into the north and south magnetic poles. But do they form a magnetic field of their own? I don’t think so.

The sun follows the rhythm of the planets

LOL!!! I thought this was going to be a Catholic thread. Sounds just like the mindless ramblings of Bergoglio.

That article looks like a waste of my time. Look at the sun. Look at the little, tiny planets. No way is our gravitational pull going to cause the slightest ripple on a burning ball of flame a hundred times bigger and 92 million miles away.

"Earth’s magnetic field is caused by currents in the liquid iron outer core, which in turn are caused by the Coriolis effect of the earth’s spin, similar to how hurricanes are caused by winds moving north or south, experiencing different rotational speeds. Currents in an electrically conducting fluid are capable of retaining a magnetic field according to the dynamo theory."

True...but that same conducting medium is also moving within the sun's field, therefore it too must generate currents in said conducting medium...a mechanism that allows for direct transfer of solar energy into the earth's energy balance that does not involve photons. The cause and required effect are basic simple physics, but how does it cascade through the complexity of the earths ecosystem.

For magnetic dipoles like the sun, field strength decreases as the inverse cube of the distance. This means that the sun’s magnetic field is extremely weak, almost nonexistent, at earth’s distance. Whatever effect it has on earth is negligible.

Interesting. You use the word “system” a lot. I put forth the proposition that anyone who really believes that humans are making the Earth warmer does not understand the meaning of that word. So start from there when you try to figure how many people understand your ideas.

Tidal forces are strongest when there is maximum Venus-Earth-Jupiter alignment; a constellation that occurs every 11.07 years.

That's almost going to happen this month, according to this article:

Jupiter will get so close to Earth this month its largest moons will be visible with binoculars

Quote:

The planet will reach opposition, the annual occurrence when the Jupiter, Earth and the Sun are arranged in a straight line, with Earth in the center. So, mark your calendars for Monday, as it will be the best time of the year to see it.

Don't know where Venus is, though.

Alright, check HERE. Looks like Venus is off 90 degrees, but Saturn is almost lined up...
