MC Networks announced Thursday that it would join a growing number of media companies threatening to pull investments or projects in Georgia over the state's new anti-abortion law that goes into effect next year.
A spokesperson for the network, which has invested heavily in production facilities in the state, including for the network's hit series "The Walking Dead," told Variety the company would "reevaluate" its productions in the state if the new law survives legal challenges filed by abortion rights advocates.
If this highly restrictive legislation goes into effect, we will reevaluate our activity in Georgia. Similar bills some even more restrictive have passed in multiple states and have been challenged," the spokesperson told Variety. "This is likely to be a long and complicated fight and we are watching it all very closely."

Confuzzled - What does entertainment / watching a movie have to do with the willful and intentional murder of a child?
Answer - Nothing!
The walking dead ... hmmm, sounds about accurate; these people are protesting a ban on murder of the alive, sensing, unborn! Yes, these are dead souls walking. These are the gaggle who will eagerly take the mark of the beast to buy and sell, coming soon to a planet near you.
I cancel Netflix, looks like I just need to stock up on old Dvds. The new shows are not worth watching anyway. I barely watch TV shows anymore.
It seems like every TV show has hidden propaganda over the years with an end goal in the future. They are changing Social Norms via TV and movies. This is why we have drag queens in our libraries two (Bosom Buddies 1980s, Mash), and two daddy’s (gay) in TV shows now (My Two Dads 80/90s).
In another 50 years (maybe sooner) Social Norms will allow Christian Persecution in the United States. They will lock you up for your beliefs.
there are plenty of alternatives out there besides Netflix. Some are even free if you don’t mind commercials. Vudu has something like 100,000 movie titles.
Well stated! +1
How is this NOT our Bake the cake moment?? Why cant we use their tactics and sue them to demand service of keeping theaters open and not discriminate on religious civil rights grounds?
Just an FYI, the James Brown Bio Pic was filmed in Natchez MS a few years ago (Mick Jagger was a Producer and stayed in Town while they were filming) and I believe they also filmed part of The Help there too.
Hollyweird putting itself on suicide watch.
Popcorn futures soar.
This is when all these States should start repealing Any and All Tax Incentives for Hollywood and instead start Charging them Hefty Fees to do Business in their State. The first State to do this will start an avalanche of other States following.
Why Should Extremely Wealthy People and Companies receive WELFARE from the TAXPAYERS???
Satanic Hollywood has been boycotting Christianity and political conservatism for a long time.
Christians need to boycott them.
We are addicted to worldly entertainment produced by an industry run by people who would commit genocide against Christians if they could.
I’m not exaggerating. Does anyone think the early church would have spent their Sunday afternoons at the Roman Coliseum to be entertained? Jews and Christians were the only groups who did not attend, and Christian influence is what caused the end of Coliseum spectacle.
There are millions of Christians who give the entertainment industry hundreds of dollars per month in subscription fees for things such as streaming services, cable, and satellite. We attend movies, sporting events, and concerts that line the pockets of people who hate us.
If we stopped, their industry would collapse. Or it would at least adapt to the marketplace and cut its leftwing, anti-Christian, political activism.
This truly seems to be some type of knee-jerk virtue signaling. Georgia has not done this on their own. Alabama passed a “ban” (they are not truly bans, anyway). Missouri passed a ban. Louisiana passed a ban but the only state Hollywood seems to think passed such a bill was Georgia.
I know Hollywood films in Louisiana. Not so sure Alabama or Missouri are hotbeds for film makers but Louisiana definitely is. Perhaps they are afraid of this becoming a bigger movement if they acknowledge that multiple states have passed these anti-abortion bills.
What we have here is posturing. They say this now to please their Hollywood “base” and by the time all the court proceedings are done everyone has forgotten about their pledge and their “investments” are safe. It’s all BS for show.
Those were some butt-ugly cars back then...
The thing is they have built studios there and such and have huge capital investments. Now if they are willing to do so as they say and write off those investments on “Principle”, then more power to them. Except they are all Mendacious Hypocritical jackass’. They talk a good game.
Do these jerks boycott foreign nations with more restrictive abortion laws? Most EU nations have abortion laws that would give Planned Parenthood the vapors (and shall we mention Muslim nations?). They can go screw themselves.
walking dead will probably be cancelled by the time this if fully adjudicated anyway ...
F*$K AMC, Netflix and Hollywierd.
Done with all of them.
