Sales of LaCroix sparkling water are suddenly tanking
Business Insider / MSN ^ | May 30, 2019

LaCroix is "effectively in a free fall" amid declining sales and rising competition, according to a new research note from Guggenheim Securities.

"The LaCroix brand has gone from bad, to worse, to disastrous in a relatively short period of time following negative media attention regarding the 'natural' claim of the brand's flavoring ingredients that surfaced in October of last year," analyst Laurent Grandet wrote.

A lawsuit last year alleged that LaCroix contains artificial ingredients, which is contrary to the company's "all-natural" marketing claims. LaCroix has denied the claims in the suit.

Course, I don’t know how she eats nutella either.

BOL! One of our younger relatives with good intentions gave us a jar of it. We tried it once.

Then, we used it instead of peanut butter for our mice/rat traps, didn’t work.

I never liked water, so I drank iced tea, until yr and a half ago when I tried plain sparkling/seltzer water on ice. Man that stuff is sooo good. I drink 2 liters/day!!! I am very hydrated. I introduced it to hubby, and he loves it too. We load up when on sale.

In the end of course you are right.

I won’t ask what the stay was for but it obviously had a profound effect on you.

I hope you are well now.

Remember the French ‘started’ with EVIAN...

Did you ever bother to hold it up to a mirror or just look at it backwards from here?

What a great thread. I just sent your remarks to an elitist, who orders EVIAN instead of local water.

Since all the comments seem to be negative on this thread, I will stake out a contrarian view.

I thoroughly enjoy LaCroix, especially the lime flavor.

Cold, fizzy, flavorful and no calories. It’s always been a winner for me.

LaCroix, with its retro label and unique flavors, became an unlikely leader in the seltzer market. The brand has been around for nearly three decades, owned by a relatively small company. But sales took off this decade, and LaCroix became one of the symbols of the Millennial generation.

Are there any unsweetened, unlemoned bottled teas. I drink iced tea that way and cannot fine any bottled tea that is unsweetened and unlemoned.

My friends brought It to me, along with other such poisonous American crap non food, when I was moving into new house. I tell them oh thanks very much and put it away

I tell them I can’t consume anything with ‘natural flavor’ in it. It is masked MSG and my body reacts to it regardless of whether I want it to or not

They look at me. All screwy

These are people with science degrees. Doctorates. No comprehension. So I take it then throw it away later

People can’t read a label?

They still think a product ad doesn’t lie?

Lots of clones on the market now that are cheaper and/or have better taste.

Yep. I'm drinking "Bubbly" by Pepsi. They come in many flavors. I love them so much to the point that any sweetened soda now is just too sweet.

Personally, I think there's a market for "semi-sweet" soda with less sugar (and not less sugar supplemented with an artificial sweetener, just less sugar). When I do drink soda, I like the cans at room temperature and poured over ice. This melts the ice just enough to water it down, cutting the carbonation and the sweetness a little bit to make it more palatable.

I second the up vote for Topo Chico. Great stuff - especially for chasing tequila. I will gladly pay a 5% tarif for it.
