Those were the days when you could live like a Prince and party like it’s 1939.

Most people dressed better back then. My grandfather spent most of his life somewhere in the gray line that divided the working and middle classes. I can’t ever remember him leaving the house w/o a coat and tie and his gray fedora type hat.

People used to dress up to go shopping.
Yesterday I saw a ‘guy’ wearing house slippers and pajama bottoms and a tee shirt in Walmart.....................

This may be the same slacker that dropped a Deuce in the main aisle a number of weeks ago. I avoid The Wall as often as possible.

Marlene Dietrich on the deck of the Normandie waiting for the cabin stewards to attend to her luggage. This is just the portion she wanted in her stateroom. The other 20+ steamer trunks were sent to the baggage hold for the duration of the voyage.

Wow! Elegant times. Unfortunately the Normandie fell over later.

They should have advertised this tour as: “Come see Paris before it’s German next year!”

“People used to dress up to go shopping.”
Cripes, they used to get dressed for dinner at home.

Rich people were better dressed back thenYep, people have gotten lazy, wearing torn jeans out to dinner looks awful, not young and hip. I like to dress up a bit, it's my way of "fighting against the establishment" :)
