Most people dressed better back then. My grandfather spent most of his life somewhere in the gray line that divided the working and middle classes. I can’t ever remember him leaving the house w/o a coat and tie and his gray fedora type hat.
People used to dress up to go shopping.
Yesterday I saw a ‘guy’ wearing house slippers and pajama bottoms and a tee shirt in Walmart.....................
