California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday pardoned seven former felons, including two Cambodian refugees the Trump administration wants to deport, in his first acts of clemency since the Democrat took office in January.

Newsom adopted a policy of his predecessor, former Gov. Jerry Brown, to use his state constitutional authority to issue pardons to shield immigrants targeted by federal immigration officials.

1. I'm curious to know if granting a pardon on a state crime would have any bearing on federal deportation order. But, I'm sure California officials let this guy run into the wind. He'll get caught, again. But, let's take a look at who he pardoned.

Hay Hov ... convicted of solicitation to commit murder and participation in a criminal street gang in 2001, when he was 21, according to the Newsom administration.

Kang Hen ... convicted of grand theft in 1994 when he was 18. Hen, who has a 4-year-old son and a partner with kidney and heart problems, was taken into custody by ICE in April.....have to throw in a line or two to get some sympathy for the outstanding citizen that he is.

The man is willingly and knowingly letting people out of prison, to try and spite the President, and making his, already, sh*tty state, even sh*ttier. SMH!!!

Of course, Newsome and his ilk will never have to deal with the consequences of these decisions, as they are surrounded by walls, gates, armored vehicles and guys with lots of guns.

Protecting fraudulently documented foreigners from US laws.

That makes CA a Mexican colony.

Not a rebuke to Trump but a thumb in the eye of all American citizens.

Wait a minute!!
They are being deported for violating federal law - immigration law. Something Newsom has no jurisdicti9on over. If they’re getting pardons for murder, robbery, etc. violations of state law then ok. They are welcome to celebrate their “clean slate” in their respective home countries.

Someone in VA suggested building a wall around Charlottesville. Good idea if it would work, but there are other things that would work better.

I'm curious to know if granting a pardon on a state crime would have any bearing on federal deportation order.

It depends, if you are a legally admitted permanent resident alien then a criminal conviction for most crimes would put your legal immigration status in jeopardy.

A pardon would remove the pretext for a deportation proceeding.

If they are in the country illegally they its makes no difference and they can be removed.

That’ll really show us citizens of California. He blows off the President, bows to the cartels, lets the criminals go free into the streets. Thanks Gov.

If the person is here illegally, he can be deported regardless of what pardon he receives from Newsom.

California is really not a state anymore but a sh*thole colony and leftist rogue territory. The state needs to be broken up.
