On 4/19/2019 I posted a thread asking Freepers which generation they belonged to. The thread was an attempt to satisfy my curiosity regarding the generational breakdown of FR because I have gotten the sense that most of us are rather long in the tooth.
Naturally, as a 20-year member of this esteemed site, my hope is that it will ultimately start attracting younger members in order to continue the critical job of spreading the conservative perspective to new generations.
I received 389 responses to my original post, of which 219 actually provided information regarding respondents' birth year or generation.
Here are the results:

Do you know how to read? Go read some of the books regarding generational research.
Your specific experience is not representative of a generation of millions. The whole field of study is about trends, not what YOU know.
Yep...... it finally dawned on me I had my dates wrong. Trump is younger then me.
Thanks for the ping, Coleus. Maceman, you can add me to the Gen X column.
No one is really surprised by the FR statistics, are they?
289 is a decent sample size. I doubt the results will change much from where they are now. I am a boomer myself.
Nope.
Just a beautifully oblivious bit of fate.
:D
I’m a baby boomer, 1951
Which is why I joined FR
I’m probably the rare bird.
Anyone who isn’t aware of your moral superiority to the entire ‘Boomer generation just isn’t paying attention, as you have informed FR of this fact often enough.
How you manage to endure living among ‘Boomers is something of a mystery, but it’s certainly another of your many virtues.

;)
+1 !
I can recall people whom the press used to trot out as “spokesmen” for the ‘Boomers, and their routine was to denigrate our elders and praise all of our supposed virtues.
It’s fine irony seeing someone denounce ‘Boomers while acting just like some of the jerks who spoke in our name.
Of course I can read and my reading comprehension skills are excellent. Sadly, the same can't be said of you.
Most people, since time began, have very little ability to do much of anything to change/improve/invent things.
Books, like newspapers, are biased and less and less of them are factually accurate; the same goes for polls and so called "studies"! Still and all, I'd be interested to know where you are getting your lopsided info from, besides your fevered imagination and experience with your parents and other adults you grew up around. So please list your sources.
1960
I dont understand the blinders you have on. Abortion was started due to boomers wanting to kill their babies. No? It passed in 1973. Boomers were age 28 down to teenagers. Hmmm. Gay rights? All boomers embraced. Illegals getting amnesty? 1964 and 1986. Boomers started voting and voted in bordes for the second amnesty. Want more?
I’m a Boomer too.
Read Generations, Generation X and The fourth Turning to start.
Better hurry up, you will die of old age soon. And I dont want you dying ignorant.
“Abortion was started due to boomers wanting to kill their babies. No?”
Of course not. Ronald Reagan signed a bill legalizing abortion in California in 1967. The oldest ‘Boomers were in college. The vast majority were still school kids.
When Roe v Wade was decided in 1973 the oldest Boomer was 27. The youngest was 9. I would think that even someone possessing your very limited intellect could figure out that not even one Boomer was on that Supreme Court.
“Gay rights? All boomers embraced.”
An utterly baseless assertion. But then that’s you.
“Illegals getting amnesty? 1964 and 1986. Boomers started voting and voted in bordes for the second amnesty. “
There was no amnesty of any kind in 1964.
The 1986 amnesty law was written by Alan Simpson, born 1931, and Romano Mazzoli, born 1932, and signed into law by Ronald Reagan, born 1914. Not a single a Boomer.
“Want more?”
Yeah I would. Because I’m a connoisseur of stupidity and no one at FR quite matches your skill in that art form. You’re a regular Michelangelo.
It is always best and most enlightening to talk with those who lived through times you didn't, in order to understand what those times were really like. Another good way to do research is to read newspapers and magazines, of all kinds that were published at the same eras you are interested in. Some things will be true, some false, some will only pertain to certain groups/areas of this country and not at all to others.
Then, yes, there are books:
"BOOM"
60's
The 8os
TWIXT
and 13th GEN; for starters.
The books by Strauss and Howe are about as valid and stupid as the 1970s series, beginning with FUTURE SHOCK, by Alvin Toffler were/still are!
And as far as my "dying soon", no, I rather doubt that shall be case; I'm probably in better shape than you are and have extremely good genes. So sorry to disappoint you, re that matter.
I am a baby boomer. On the younger end of the baby boomer spectrum.
I feel the same way. I am gen x and I get really annoyed with this place quite often. Not on very much at all anymore.
