I was at a party yesterday for a while and NASCAR came up. These guys were BIG fans and always went to the Bristol race. They said a couple years ago you couldn't get a ticket to the race. These same people went down to Dayton as well. Today NASCAR has cooled down in people attending the races. They were discussing what they thought the reasons were. There was no specific reason I heard. I think you answered their question CottonBall.

We used to watch NASCAR on TV, long before we moved here. We are about 40 minutes from the Bristol track. That used to be the cutest track, the best scenery and it was always full.

Now that we moved here, the stands are at least half empty. My husband went to One race, just to say he did. But he has no interest in going back. Not for $150!

All I remember is, first they put on restrictor plates to make all the cars essentially equal. And they did something to the Bristol track to make it harder for people to pass. So basically the cars are just going round and round until there is a crash.
