Russia launched the world’s longest submarine today, the special mission submarine Belgorod. Designed to support a variety of military missions, including the Poseidon long-range strategic nuclear torpedo, the sub is far larger than anything operated by any other naval force, including the U.S. Navy. The six hundred foot long submarine displaces more water than a World War I battleship and can dive to a depth of 1,700 feet.

Exactly.
At max speed of 60 kts it would take over 15 hours to travel 1000 nm.

if it’s as good as their remaining aircraft carrier, it’ll probably be in port for major repairs more often than swimming under the sea ...

It’s worse. Max speed is for only the finally dash, if needed, to its target.

The it’s much slower the other 99.44% of the way to avoid detection.

I doubt it can be recalled.

So...which crew members get to board the escape capsule?

That pod can’t hold everybody.

This one is too long to go through the caverns (it can’t make the bends).

‘I await the upcoming CNN non-stop coverage of this sub’s Collusion with a rock.’

I’m more wondering if CNN will say that the Russians were given the technology to build the sub as payback for Trump’s win...even if the sub had been around for decades and this particular project started early during Obama’s term.

They’re certainly good at building the BIGGEST things. The build things bigger in Russhie than they do in Texas seems like.

Not hard to track.

Like banging pots and pans together while underway.

Apparently ONLY the Russians have escape pods. The mini submarine would be used to ferry people up, also they have inflatable suits they can slowly rise to the surface in. Interesting question.

Perhaps attach a whale whistle to it. That way sperm whales will try to mate with it. Rename it Catherine the Great.

That’s what I was thinking. I might start with Mogadishu. Then Sanaa. With four more left I’d have to consult with Google Earth.
