The Times article does say Assange told UK TV on Sunday, which was 06/12/2016.
The Times article links to to the Guardian.
The Guardian Article was 06/12/2016 so it was actually known a day earlier ? or am I missing something ?

Sorry to hear this Peabody. My double vision hit me while shopping at meijer by myself. Not really bad until I started driving home and had two center lines. Had to drive with one eye closed and prayers. Vision trying to clear up but only for a few seconds at a time. Take care prayers. Happy Easter all.
